Bit like Groundhog Day. I like watching our team. But don't like seeing the result. I'd love watching our team, if we replaced three or four of them. Cos we'd win lots of games. I reckon we would not be relegated if my replacement strategy was implemented. I still love my team though. Let's face it, for the umpteenth time this season, we've lost in then same way, whilst we have not been dominated by the opposition. We never are. We don't lose by overwhelming attacks. We lose by stupid mistakes. Or a lack of organisation. We have a bag of talent. It will serve us well - probably next season.
I feel so sorry for the lads. they work their ******** off. we look good under Struber and hopefully we will get tighter at the back. They will be down tonight but not out. I believe this group are made of strong stuff. in adversity they will find strength. on to Tuesday!!! COYR!!!!
Defensively we're not even at League One standard. If we don't sort it out, we'll struggle next season. I know L1 strikers are not as good as Championship strikers, but the way we defend they won't need to be - we'll gift wrap all their goals for them.
I’d prefer them to find their strength on Wednesday, but agree with the rest of your post. It’s so frustrating. Had we kept last seasons defence and keeper* I am sure we would be comfortably outside the bottom 3 had we strengthened at the back we could be mid table it’s just really frustrating. I fear even if we can strengthen in January it will be too late. I think though it’s more likely we will weaken the squad still further * The keeper was out of our hands and to be fair we made 2 reasonable signings for me though Collins is the one that should be starting Radlinger hasn’t really impressed so far.
I think we will do ok next season and make the play offs in league 1 even without Mowatt and Woodrow as long as we start well and the team spirit is there
It's too easy to think that we'll do ok in L1 because we've got out of there quickly the last couple of times. That might not always be the case. Look at how long it took Sheff Utd to get out. Look at Sunderland. And look at us last season. We had a great manager, the best defence, some top goalscorers. And we went up automatically. But we very nearly didn't. If Pompey and Sunderland hadn't blown it they'd have finished above us. Despite all of our great football, we limped over the finish line (almost literally with the injuries we had to contend with). All I'm saying is that there are no guarantees in football. Most of us have followed this club through long stretches in the doldrums. It could easily go back to that if we're not careful. Apologies if this sounds overly gloomy. I'm still a bit down in the dumps about yesterday. And that's before I've seen the highlights!
Tbf we had an unbeaten home record and if we'd not had the injuries and suspensions might have picked up more points. League 1 is a lottery in some respects but I think we'd do ok. My son just said to me he wants to stay in the championship but as positive as I am I just can't see how were going to do it. We've a fully fit squad to pick from unlike say Charlton and Huddersfield but we're still below them
