https://www.heartsfc.co.uk/news/article/club-statement-1-2-3-4-5 What on earth is going on? Both clubs' statements can't be true. Sad times.
.He was called into the office and came out sacked! So now we have another clubs interpretation of events plus a few contradicting statements from our board.....common denominator....OUR BOARD!
That’s not the issue here, we didn’t sack him according to Conway today. Hearts say he wasn’t employed hence we must have. One of them is lying. stendel was tapped up / went talking to Huddersfield but that’s a separate issue to this
That was the impression I got from speaking to him tbh. He certainly wasnt expecting what happened to happen, it doesn't sound like it was a reasonable discussion.
Correct helen....look i cant say too much but apparently he was in absolute shock when he came out of that meeting. Bad relations happen all the time between board and coach (remember brian clough?) but to say he was in shock tells you they sprang this on him.
Working on the assumption he did talk and was lining up staff to go with him, I can’t help wonder if he genuinely didn’t know it would be an issue. Perhaps he thought as he came as a team, he could leave as a team
I go by the immediate aftermath. So in the Barton incident by Woodrow s and Cavares tweets and Mowatt saying he was gutted the gaffer had left. That is not to say that I dont believe he spoke to Huddersfield.
We are aware of that. You are missing the point. BFC saying he was an employee when Hearts appointed him, Hearts saying DS was unemployed. Therefore someone is telling lies.
I find it hard to believe it was Huddersfield TBH, I know from very reliable sources that Cowleys were their first choice and Huddersfield moved massively from their starting position to make it happen in a relatively short time. That’s not to say there was not contact though, but you would have thought if he was ‘tapping’ up staff there was more than primary contact. Another thought on the subject is that it explains why not Stern or Tonge and could it have been Murray who outed him?
Hardly surprising. Didn’t expect he’d announce his talks with Huddersfield during his final farewell in the Garrison. I reckon the club wanted to sack him due to poor results, and saw the Huddersfield talks as a way to get rid and ideally receive some compensation, and avoid paying him off. Rightly or wrongly..
Thing is Redhelen the only players who commented were Mowett and Chaplin, any others I've not seen. Mowett thanked him for improving him as a player.Chaplin thanked Daniel for having faith in him and bringing him to Oakwell. Don't forget the players meeting.I'm normally for these kind of meetings if they are constructive and benefits the team in the long run.My info in this case was we shall say a different kind of meeting.
