Ian - congratulations - but you must factor in that a Scottish Independence vote will take place when the UK has left the EU.
The good folk of Scotland have a difficult decision to make - Independence whilst in the EU is different to Independence when not part of the EU.

I feel terrible tonight, I'll not suffer because of what is about to happen, I'll be ok. But this is not about people like me. It's about the people who go without food so their kids can eat. It's about food banks, people sleeping on streets, 30 year old people still living in one room at their parents' home, because they don't get paid enough to afford their own place, people with missing teeth because they can't afford a dentist, or being ridiculed because they don't have designer glasses. Parents dreading the school holidays because their kids won't get free school meals. I could go on, but I won't, except to say David Cameron, this is your legacy.

I know exactly what you are saying but I know Nicola has been touring Europe recently talking about this exact situation. And all indicators suggest that joining the EU from a position being out of the EU may not be such a problem. Even Spain intimated that they did not have a problem considering they have problems with catalonia.

 

Why thick? They didn’t want Corbyn either?!? People aren’t thick who didn’t vote your way!

 

I’m not gloating... I’ve argued until I’m blue in the face that the nation wouldn’t get behind corbyn, only to be told that I’m stupid and ignorant. I just don’t understand why no one else saw this coming?

 

It's bad enough people voted for Boris, a liar, a cheat and a sociopath. But they've also voted for party containing Mogg, IDS, Raab, Patel, Javid, Gove, Grayling, May, Francois, Fox the list goes on ffs! A party willing to sack moderate MPs and the new batch are nothing more than National Front members dressed in their Sunday bests, how many candidates during the election are under supposed investigation? And they say Labour have a racism issue?

 

The EU is a peculiar organisation - just one country out of 27 - France blocked the admittance of Macedonia into the EU.
I think the cautious?? folk of Scotland will vote for Independence if Nicola can convince the electorate that Scotlands RE-ADMITTANCE into the EU will be swift and painless before the actual Independence vote.

 

Remember we will leave UK and join the EU with lots to offer. Oil, gas, whisky and other very vibrant industries. We are not joining as a parasite nation but a nation with lots to offer.

 

Stop talking nonsense - we keep being told that the EU imposes things upon us constantly, it's ridiculous to suggest that one country can stop the EU doing something.

 

I agree - but you miss my point - some people in Scotland will be very cautious about completely isolating themselves and will need assurances before they vote for Independence.
(and I fully support the push for Independence.)

Interesting stuff arguing about Scotland leaving but remember Ireland are also getting shafted. N. Ireland pulled out of EU against their will. Also a border down the Irish Sea. All points to big trouble. And the Irish won't fk about in displaying their anger.
