Due to man 'flu, but I was overjoyed at yesterday's victory. It did start me thinking, though, over a few things. A. When was the last time we scored 5 goals at home in a game in the secod tier? B. Who was the last player to score a hattrick at home for us in the second tier? C. When was the last time we won 5-3 at home in a league game? In my befuddled mind, I've come up a couple of answers, but they can't possibly be true, as they occured so long ago. A. The last time I can think of was the 5-1 victory over Blackburn Rovers, January 2000, under Dave Bassett. B. I haven't the foggiest idea. C. The 5-3 victory over Rochdale, February/March 1975, in the old Fourth Division? Mick Butler scored a hattrick that day, a week after he'd scored three at Newport County in a 4-3 win. That's the only time in my life I've known a Barnsley player score a hattrick in consecutive matches. My brain isn't working as it should, so I'd appreciate any help on these questions!
Last Hat trick was Winall will need to look back for the last 5 at home. We did 5 away at Birmingham a few years ago. Hope you are fully recovered in time for Xmas
Who did Winnall score a hattrick against in the second tier at home? And thank you, old mate. My pathetic self pity is helping me get by!
Sorry just checked and that was a FA cup game against Burton not Championship though Craig Davies got 4 at Birmingham but that was away will need to dig back a bit more. Will do it later if no one else comes up with an answer

5-3 scores are quite rare. The only ones I remember seeing are defeats at Charlton and Chelsea back in the 80s. Both had hat-tricks - Futcher for us and Durie for Chelsea. Durie got 4 and the next Chelsea player to get 4 in a league game, Vialli, did it at Oakwell in 97.
