Lost his first three games and has an important derby on Thursday yet Stendel is back in Germany for Christmas. Previous management staff taking training in his absence. Family's family and there more important things than football of course but it is a bit unprofessional unless there are exceptional circumstances imo. He was supposedly back in Germany quite a lot whilst manager of us, which begs the question why he's taken another job here. https://www.hmfckickback.co.uk/inde...el-is-off-home-and-returning-christmas-night/
When he left us i thought he would have gone back to germany. I'm suprised he has taken an other job over here. Read his programme notes on the last home game last season against blackpool and he spoke alot about missing his family.
Some of their fans are awful. Most here didnt get on Struber's back straight away as they realised he needed time to settle. As to going home, I think that's for him to decide . I think one post said he'd left detailed plans and surely as professional players and coaches they should be able to follow them?
Struber flew back home after the Millwall match (see his post match interview), don't know if he's back yet. But as mentioned above he can leave instructions for his UK based coaching staff to get along with preparations until he gets back.
To fair Struber has gone back as well. Isn’t Christmas Eve the main event for them in Germany, Austria etc?
Yep, their Christmas is today, Santa comes as soon as it gets dark, and then presents get opened and they have their Christmas meal. Christmas day is similar to our Boxing day.
Struber didnt do too well for us in the first 3 games either but we didnt immediately get on his back. Hearts were poor before they appointed Stendel - you need more than 3 games to decide if he is any good
Speaking of the derby Thursday, who would’ve thought Stendel and Jack Ross would be competing against each other again under these circumstances. Ross took 4 points off Stendel last year so Daniel owes him one.
I know exactly what you mean. A few years ago in Austria I ended up with a new FB friend with the surname Gangelberger. I got ribbed mercilessly about it, until she got married to a bloke called Klotz...
Tbf is it not a lot to do with club expectations? If mid table in your championship was guaranteed then almost all BFC fans would be very happy. But struggling at the bottom of the Scottish premier is certainly not where Hearts fans find acceptable. So getting beat from the likes of St Johnstone is always going to cause unrest. I believe he will turn them around but it will be a bumpy ride.
Ross failed to get promotion with the biggest budget league one has probley ever seen and some of the most experienced players. But even after his mare at Sunderland is still regarded highly in scotland the hibs fan I know was over the moon when they got him.
Now that the Old Firm are both skint compared to past glories. You'd have thought that Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibs would be able to bridge the gap. Have they spunked money away on the wrong players? It seemed up until recently that the playing field was becoming more level.
He didn't win in his last eight games with us so that's 11 without a win for him now. He shouldn't have taken the position if he wasn't going to put his all in to it. But then the board should take some blame for allowing someone who's lost his first three games to not be around during a critical part of the season where games and in quick succession. I wouldn't want us making the same allowances for our own head coach.
The playing field here will never be level mate. Celtic are most certainly not skint. Got millions from continually failing in the champions league. Meaning they can scoop up all available talent from other clubs, allowing them to continue to win the league. But you are right. The Rangers are skint and continue to financially cheat themselves along.
I’ve also read many posts in their forum where they accept that the players aren't good enough, dont put a shift in and need moving on. I’ve no knowledge of the club but you can only work with what you’ve got to work with. It’s an interesting parallel with our own plight and I’m keen to see Daniel turn it around.
