Long, long way to go yet. At least two of those above us will go on poor runs and get sucked in. We'll be fine if we carry on playing as we are.
Not worried one bit me, we play like we did today for the rest of the season we’ll be comfortably safe I reckon. Amazing the job Struber has done so far, he’s got these lads playing some lovely stuff.
It looks a big gap on paper but when u think where we were 5 or 6 games ago its nothing a few wins wont solve. Just dint look like winning ever again 5 or 6 games ago thats the difference....
the same players we had at the start of the season. we've been patient with them and shown faith in them Gerhard has clearly changed the mindset. this league is a major challenge. massive difference to league 1 but these lads are developing every week. sublime football at times.
Not overly worried about that, it's down to us. A lot of positives over the last month or so. Starting to look a lot better at the back and the goals from Chaplin have been a welcomed boost. Now the tricky part, coming through January without a weaker squad.
Main worries are injuries, suspensions and teams like Derby spending their way out of trouble in January.
Plenty will drop off their form. Look at Luton and Charlton - both had a great start and were flying high. Until the momentum from last season ran out and their squads were exposed. We had a good squad of individuals, which needed time to become a team and find their feet at this level. Which they are starting to do. The most encouraging thing about our squad, is that none have reached their full potential yet and are still developing I.e they have more to give. Other teams are playing with players who potentially are at their peak and won’t get better. Look at Luton - Tunnicliffe, Berry, Moncur, Lee and Pearson all decent lads and good L1 players, but they’re not going to improve into top Championship players, are they......
I was just about to say the same. We were 8 points from safety on 29 November (9 points if you took into account the far inferior goal difference at the time).
great post which illustrates that the summer transfer window maybe wasnt the catastrophe that the majority on here thought it was. a massive well done to the boys who, as you say, are yet to peak.
Last 7 games, won 3, drawn 3, lost 1. If we can continue that kind of form, we'll drag a few more teams into the mix. Big games coming up against Derby and Huddersfield. Win both of those and the table looks very different...
