I think the club gave every fan who attended today a free hat and scarf for their support, if true great gesture.

 

That was the plan. Unfortunately some went without because people who turned up before decided to take more then one set. Greedy f*ckers should be ashamed of themselves.

my son (BFC) joined his Taff relatives in the Home end for the match ( wonder if he can claim a hat and scarf?)

 

On the stream back the Swansea commentators said something on the lines of - what a good turn out there is from Barnsley considering the time of year, distance traveled and position in the league.

 

Owt for nowt.

Makes me sick that does. Did they lay them out on the seats? If they did and people just took them off other seats then that’s ridiculous, winds me that does.

I’m sure the club would be made aware of this and those who went without would be sorted.

 

The SLO is aware of it mate so hopefully those affected will get sorted out by the club

 

I was there and had no clue this even happened. Same must apply for all those on the coach i went with, didn’t hear anyone mention that they got anything.

oh well, not the reason i went. I got a scarf at Cardiff season before last.

 

About 40 on our coach and I don’t think anyone got anything. Not particularly bothered about the actual items, it’s the principle of taking from your fellow supporters. Didn’t even get to see the letter thanking us for our support.

At the end of the game I saw one bloke with what looked like at least half a dozen items, still in packets. Hope he’s proud of himself.

I know you both say you’re not bothered about the items but I hope you both get somthing.

That’s two coaches that didn’t come away with anything. How these people could take from that many of their fellow supporters is winding me up. I doubt they would be but I’m hoping they’re reading this thread and are ashamed of themselves today.

 

This is true. Utter greed. Still, i’m not overly bothered. I give the club my complete devotion & the only thing i ask for in return is effort by the players. Can’t fault them on that in the last 7 or so games. We will survive.

 

Because sadly we have a large amount of absolute scum who claim to be Barnsley supporters. 500 might be a big turn out for an away game but it's bloody annoying that a large amount of those 500 are horrible people whos behaviour have stopped double that amount from attending away games because of the toxic atmosphere they generate.

And by a large amount I don't mean everybody. Basically if someone reads this and thinks I'm talking about them theen ask yourself why do you think I mean you? What do you do that makes you think I mean you? If you can't think of anything then I don't mean you. If you can then you are the problem

 

We have idiots like every other club. Just like every club has idiots who post on the forums...

 

From what I saw and was told, a fair number of the culprits were the older end, not the usual baby Stone Island “concourse culture” gang. Not sure if that makes it worse tbh, old enough to know better.

 

Yes, the idiots of other clubs haven't stopped a large number of people who use this BBS from going to Barnsley away games though. Or stolen things from members of this bbs

 

By the way the vast majority of the fans are great so I wasn't having a dig at many at all

Did we have a sign up saying what each person could take? It can't have been that hard to arrange turnstile staff to hand over the freebies on entry to make sure everyone got what was theirs.
