We're supposedly looking at goalkeepers, left backs, and strikers.

Can't see Mowatt as the squad is already stacked full of good and proven Championship midfielders. Also can't see Woodrow as I doubt we could pay what you'd rightly want for someone scoring goals at a fairly decent rate in the Championship.

 

Our resistance when someone comes knocking on the door with more than £3 million for one of our players is famously as powder-puff as our defence was until the start of December. I wouldn't blame Preston at all for putting in a cheeky bid for Woodrow. If you don't ask, you don't get. Having said that I'd be absolutely livid if we let him go at all in this window, even more so for anything less than £7-8 million.

 

Good of the club not to be arseholes with Pinillos & to allow him to go home & see his family over Christmas / New Year seen as we’ve no intention of playing him.

Feel sad about the Thiam situation, I know a large chunk of its his own fault for not working hard enough but he moved into the town & brought his family over. It felt like he actually wanted to commit to the club rather than just renting a flat in Leeds or Sheff in the hope of getting a move away a year later.

Heard Kevin Long’s coming back but don’t know if it’s a loan or permanent deal. Would imagine it’s a loan as I’d expect him to be on good money. I’d welcome that.

 

I’m not sure about Kevin Long, he’s been at Burnley 10 years and only played 60 odd games plus a few out on loan. He did ok when we had him but that was in league 1.
