I get that people think he’s over hyped and they don’t like that he’ll no doubt get a load of attention tonight but some posts are boarding on pure hatred of him. It seems all a bit OTT to me.
Cant stand the fact the media and all rooney lovers have him as top scorer for england, all the teams he scored against are *****, i once compared his goals against the likes of charlton and so on and its just wrong
Nothing against the lad, just the media circus surrounding his debut plus the obvious failings of FFP are on show with this whole saga. Also as a club I’m not Derby’s biggest fan. I was there when they relegated us a few year ago laughing at us and saying they’ll never see us again, also the fact that they had two players who were charged with drink driving offences still playing for them at all nevermind a week later doesn’t sit well with me.
Cheated on his Mrs with a prostitute, a few more known times with other women such as in USA in the hotel where Coleen forgave him again. Drink driver conviction. He was very good in his prime but if he'd concentrated on being more of a family man and didn't like a drink so much I think he would have done even more such as pushed England to winning a trophy.
I agree - England's all time leading goal scorer. Don't agree that he didn't try his best in an England shirt. Came from a poor background and has made good. That will attract envy of course. I have nothing against him - if he had decided to sign for us it would be a different story wouldn't it? He won't be match fit tonight and we must face whatever talent (or otherwise) that any club puts up against us and not whinge about it.
My lad spent his life savings to go to the World cup .twice 2010 2014 South Africa Brazil . Didn't even get out of the league's ask him what he thinks about Rooney walking off the pitch without appreciation, the fans skint themselves to follow their country. Too big for his boots couldn't lace BOBBY Charlton s boots. Was a good striker but not as good as they make out .
FFS - I would like to see every married bloke at Oakwell who has NEVER cheated on his missus stand up and there wouldn't be many sitting down! As for all those who like a drink, or had a driving conviction - jesus wept.
Which posts? We was built up too much by the media. Compare him with Ronaldo (same age 34) One still playing at the highest level for club and country and the other a sub for Derby County. His audacity to slag off England fans whilst on the pitch during the 2010 world cup was not his finest hour.
Not sure we should just brush off the drink driver conviction like that mate. The other stuff is wishy washy for me but people die every year because morons get behind the wheel impaired after they’ve had a drink.
