Think Celtic have been punished on many occasions for things like that to be fair and rightly so.

and sing songs about Lee Rigby, but hey, it's their right to express themselves without recourse from opposing fans. That would make those fans aresoyles apparently.

I don’t understand the insult. Does it refer to someone else’s cloud fairy that doesn’t exist being different to our imaginary cloud fairy?

let’s make it simple for you; if anyone wants to confront him in the street and tell him that his views are wrong, or simply boo him at a match, they’re entitled to that behaviour.

But if they chant about the pope, that’s simply wrong.

You do understand about ‘protected characteristics’?

Let me make this simple for you, you can be as pious as you wish, the tw@t comes to Barnsley and disrespects The Last Post he’s going to get the reaction he deserves whether you find it acceptable or not.

This isn’t about whether I find it acceptable.
This is about it breaking the law and the FA’s reaction to that.

nowadays I’ve no idea whether you purposely misrepresent my posts or whether you genuinely don’t understand what it is that’s being discussed.

As ever with topics around remembrance it's been constructed so that people lose perspective.
None of our public displays are mandatory and living in a country where we have freedom of expression he is free to choose and if you met the lad in the pub you could have a calm and reasoned debate with him on the subject. But you couldn't have a slanging match without getting kicked out of the pub.
At the point when you sing songs at him while he is doing his job that lump him in with a terrorist organisation then you're morally and legally in the wrong. The club will be fined for it.

I know what the FA’s stance on it is thanks, and I know all about the equalities act. You ( not the FA) described Barnsley fans as acting like arseoyles. It’s my contention that if he wants to act like an arseoyle he can have the reaction he deserves and we’ll happily pay the fine.

I appreciate the legalities involved, I appreciate that remembrance isn't compulsory, whilst I don't agree with him legally he has the right not to participate in an act of remembrance. But Surely turning away from the bugler when The Last Post is played is an act of provocation which is as morally wrong as the reaction he got.

Whereabouts in that transaction was the question about whether you wanted to contribute to fines?

I’d just assumed that the proceeds from all the tickets I’ve bought were to be spent on players. I’m not happy with that money being spent paying for dickheads to sing racist or sectarian chants.

    You clearly don’t!
I pointed out I’d fully accept people booing or showing their anger in other ways and you dismissed that.

if a black player fouls one of our players it’s fine to boo or otherwise be angry about cheating. It’s not OK to start racist chanting.

that - is the legal equivalent here.

I don’t recall the Conditions of Sale stating anywhere that profits would be used exclusively on players. I’m surprised that a pedant such as yourself would have missed that ;)

I think you’re comparing apples with oranges there mi owd. There’s nothing racist about anti ira chants. They are the enemy and not a race.

Well it can’t be too prescriptive can it Donny the writers aren't mystics are they ? If it upsets you so much then don’t renew nip, spend the money in a new extension to that moral high ground you preach from. Seems to give you more enjoyment than the football.

It’s not about the IRA aspect of the chant.

I’m going to assume you’re wilfully ignoring that though.

Because accepting the simple fact that it’s about religion (the IRA aren’t a religious terrorist organisation, the pope is a religious leader though) undermines your assertion that you understand the implications re equalities act.
