You may welcome English people - but yer in the minority in Scotland. Most Scottish people actually hate the English and make it known. But the Scots are not on their own. Yer can add the Welsh Southern Irish Aussies French to that list. Only Americans and English speaking Canadians like us. We have SNP spouting in Parliament again at Prime Ministers Questions taking up valuable parliamentary time. Tail wagging the dog. The sooner Scotland sorts these SNP idiots out or the sooner they leave the UK the better for all concerned.
It's strange but I knew that would be your response.....perhaps you ought to open your eyes and ears.
You will just have to come to terms with the fact that your little country is just not as prosperous or powerful as Gods own county of Yorkshire. Nivver mind the rest of our green and pleasant land.
I used to be British. I believed I had more in common with the likes of Lancs, Gordies and Scottish than I did with Londoners. But since the rise of Jimmy Krankie I identify now as being ENGLISH.
Maybe it’s just you they hate I’ve enjoyed nights out in Scotland, Wales, Ireland and France and happily mixed with the locals. I’ve hosted Aussies in my house - none of these people treated any Nation as different. that old phrase about treating people how you’d expect to be treated?
At the next Vote for Scottish Independence, if and when it occurs, the good folk of Scotland will be voting to be Independent of the rest of the UK As they wont be part of the EU at the time of the vote they will in effect be voting whether to remain within the UK or to be unattached to any other organisation. If the Scots believe the EU will welcome them back with open arms then I think they will vote for Independence - if they have a doubt about returning to the EU then they'll vote against Independence. Don't know the figures but it seems not all SNP supporters support Independence.
I once had a close friendship with someone who came from Tomintoul - wild - have you ever been there Ian? - every time we have a road-closure report in winter the Tomintoul to Cockbridge Road is always mentioned - brings it all back!
Yes I have passed through while making my way to Inverness via the pass through the Grampian Mountains. The Cockbridge Tomintoul road is usually the first blocked once the snow arrives.
My Grandmother on my Mother's side was from Scotland. Does that mean me and mine will be allowed to live there, old mate? If so, I'll settle for living in Drumnadrochit, or Fort Augustus. It'll be a bit of a bugger getting to Oakwell every match day, though!
Well for what its worth I can't understand this 'All the Scots hate us' mentality. I'm sure some narrow- minded morons do, but then again there are narrow minded morons in England who hate Scots.. Defies logic to me. All the Scots I've ever met have been great.and take a person as they find them which, incidentally, is what I do. Nationalistic point scoring is complete ******
