Bloke marries foreign lass. Racist, right-wing gutter press go for her because she’s black. Bloke defends his wife and decides to fu.ck the fu.ck off out of it, having seen what the same, odious sh.itrags did to his mum.

    The problem is what, exactly??

Looking like Harry is protecting her from a messy end. He might have heard rumblings that the establishment was not amused.
Flashbacks of his mother's accident might have endorsed this decision.

Correct! Some weird opinions in this thread, as if they don’t remember what happened to Diana.

Its even worse than that though although he defended his wife that wasn't approved of on high and there was a conspicuous lack of support from his family with his Dad clearly focusing on the older brother and talking about slimming down the royals - so they get loads of abuse from the press and no support from the family - cant say I blame them to be honest. Ironically I think after his Gran his is the most popular royal.

I find it quite revealling that most of the press are blaming Megan for this - the scheming woman dragging him away with her and all that... QED really

Not surprised he didn’t tell them first either. Nothing they can do about it now and if they decide to disown him in punishment then it doesn’t really matter as he wants to leave anyway. Tell them first and someone may have tried to prevent the embarrassment.

Or tell them first and worry about the possibility of a tragic accident ?
They are both in their 30's properly grown up and everything so they didnt need permission from his parents

They could have done this when they decided to marry though. It was crass to lecture on climate change and take private jets everywhere. Americans will love them though so may as well go for the A list celeb life!

Money basically, they have milked a fair bit from the taxpayer so far, don’t seem to have given any thought to ongoing protection costs etc.
Also think the racist thing is a bit of a red herring, can't recall anything really , might be wrong but from what I’ve seen you would have had to be the type who looks for it.

Opening phrase? What the f*ck are you talking about?
Slagging off the Royals and millionaires en masse is not an effective argument regarding lack of a meritocracy. i already stated there are many people who have come from nothing and made something of themselves. A regards not gping round insulting people that is rich coming form a person who recently used the term 'wan*stain' when referring to someone he has never met and then used the term 'thick millionaires.

i find it hard to consider you a grown up when you insult people (not just me) and clearly consider yourself better than others on here.

Don't bother replying as I am putting you on ignore. .

If he were alive under feudalism he'd be supporting the status quo. There's a place for conservatism, but not Conservatism.

You say that but it seems his happiest times were when he was out of the limelight and fighting in a warzone (until the media deliberately blew his cover) and when he was out of the limelight hanging out with friends and being a normal person.

I'm definitely in the "ditch the monarchy" camp, but on a personal level Harry seems like a very decent bloke who has done huge amounts of charity work. If you happen to be born into the sort of privilege that he was, you're damned if you do and damned if you don't with a lot of your actions, especially with regards to anything connected with the public purse. The Crown, largely fictional on a micro level though it may be, is also broadly accurate in the way it portrays the realities of royal life, and the severe limitations placed on the senior members. The young Charles in particular is an absolutely pitiful figure. I really don't blame Harry and Meghan for wanting to get out. Having financial security is nice, but it's really not the be all and end all of being happy.

Well I would stop my instagram account and give it a go if I were him. Unlike most of the rest of us he has that choice.

When I was a lad, you worked towards financial independence and then packed your job in. Not the other way round,, of course for such as me, it was totally impossible anyway,,,, and still is!!

Never been a fan of the royals but out of them all he was by far the most likeable , even ‘normal’ and genuinely seemed to want to help people, particularly ex forces.
Her I’m not so sure about , obviously don’t know her but she seems to me to be the type who wants her own way and will go all out to get it.
