I think once probably my favorite royal, and she was tidy in Suits, but we didn't know her and he’s been changed irreversibly. She’s come across as cold and aloof, no tour of towns and cities to get to know our country or it’s people, but reports of rifts, sackings, demands and now this. Portrayed as a victim rejected and bullied by racists. Respect and affection has to be earned its not an entitlement. The Queen must be heartbroken, our last great monarch.
Good Luck to them, I say. They have probably done the Monarchy a favour by bringing forward the question of how younger Royals should be expected to live in the world of modern communications, 24 hour news and social media. After 10 years of Tory austerity, it is not unreasonable that the financial arrangements should be reviewed and their stated aim to become financially independent should be welcomed, even if that means slightly different things to that which most of us experience.
It seems that many of the people who objected to them being paid to be royals and spent the last few years criticizing them are the same people that are now objecting to them trying to give up that lifestyle...
I dont know why Megan thinks the tabloids have it in for her you really couldnt make this **** up - oh hang on the Wail did
Genuinely amusing post. What shall we do if we have no respect or affection for any of them? Vote them out? Oh wait...
Personally I wish we could, I’m not a royalist by any stretch but do respect the Queen and the work she’s done but think that it’s an outdated institution in this day and age.
Reading this as made me hate everything about the lot of them even more. The real life’s Adams family
Guess you will be voting for Clive Lewis as next Labour Leader then - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-51062770 He wants a referendum on the Monarchy - we know how well referendums turn out in this country dont we
Sound advice from his grandfather (Duke of Edinburgh) before the wedding. "One walks out with an actress, one doesn't marry them." But alas he didn't listen............
Alas? You make it sound like he's dropped a clanger. He's got the woman he wanted, now has a son, and looks set to be able to have, if not completely normal, then as normal a life as he could have hoped for. I'm not seeing any downsides for him at the moment.
