The 10 men was a Friday night away game, keeper got carried off after about 4 mins, Pierce or Horn I think, and Glyn Riley went in goal. 2-0 down at half time came back to win 2-3
I was top-centre of the Ponty that day. There were limbs everywhere when TC got the winner and loads of people hit the deck. I've also seen Barnsley throw away a 3-0 lead and lose 4-3. Exeter at home in 1977.
I'm old, memory might be playing tricks on me. Big Lil would know. I do clearly remember the look on Malcolm Macdonald's face at the final whistle though.
Pretty sure we had no one sent off (or lost players to injury). You confusing this with the game at Fulham when Glyn Riley went in goal (think it was Fulham).
I was at that game. January/February 1981. The win took us top of the league until the Saturday fixtures. Riley was ace in the nets that night.
I wasn't there but spent the night listening to the game on Radio Sheffield. Not a big claim to fame but feel like I'm back there now with me dad listening to that fantastic commentary. Can picture the wireless we had on me dad's work desk in front room.
I seem to remember away at Hull Jan 1987. Came back from 3-0 down and I think Ian Chandler scored a hat trick? Memory is a little hazy!!
I was at a couple of games where at one stage in the match we were 7-0 down (Reading & West Brom) and by sheer effort and perseverance.....we managed to keep the score down to 7. Quality.
We won 4-3 and got an injury time winner, but I don't think we were 3-0 down. Edit: We equalised 3 times http://www.ambernectar.org/blog/2012/11/nostalgia-no-new-year-cheer-as-barnsley-win-thriller/
Yeah, I remember leaving the ground with my Dad kicking every stone on the way back to the train station. Crap at the time but fond memories now my Dad has gone.
Unless my memory's playing tricks, Cunningham rose like a salmon and hovered above the centre back to head home.
