Will bring more quality and experience in... Listening and watching our manager's interviews, obviously he is limited what he can say about in comings but its plain to see he's told the board "if u want me to keep barnsley in the championship this is what I need.." He's clearly said on interview I need players who will play in the first 11 now. The board have since adjusted their stance and recruited older players... I think the board have realised they need to listen to the manager if we are to stay up. I also think the board have realised the summer recruitment of just kids was a mistake which shows they aren't as stubborn as some think.

I hope they have realised the errors they made in the summer. I also hope that it isn't too late.

I'm not as confident but it's certainly a step in the right direction. Fair play to them.

How is what Struber saying any different from what Stendal was saying. The difference is that perhaps they're listening to Struber but weren't listening to Stendal.

Maybe the difference is they know the fans wont accept another manager working with their hands tied behind their backs.

It's just frustrating that if they had listened to the fans and Stendel in the summer we may not be facing relegation now and having lost a manager who was almost universally liked.

They have had absolutely no choice but to break their policy now and for me it's too little too late with regards to their relationship with the fans.

The board will be vindicated and we're back to babes in arms again?

    ..
.....or maybe they knew that it would have made no business sense and not too good for team morale to keep faith in a manager who was allegedly working hard behind their backs to manoeuvre a move away from the club.
    who knows?

All the way back in April? When they were telling the fans that they were offering him a new contract?

My own guess would be whatever happened with Stendel happened and during conversations with Struber he made it clear what he wanted to take the job and they were left with the choice of the status quo or backing the new man.
I would also imagine there was some middle ground agreed prior to appointment.

For me too. I've been in the pub tonight for about 3 pints, got talking to 4 complete strangers, all Tarn fans. They were scathing in their condemnation, they basically said exactly what you wrote.

As I've said before, I've yet to meet anyone in real life, face to face, anywhere, in pubs, at matches, in curry houses, anywhere, who defends our owners. The only people who defend them are posters on here.

Let's not forget struber was there top target before stendel. Maybe the owners know more than us .who they trust with the coffers .

it's actually on record that they offered him a new contract. As it turns out it seems apparent that, despite that offer, he was contemplating not signing because he was thinking of a move which could have been more beneficial, financially, for him and his family.
These things happen and the only point I'm trying to make is that we dont know the half of it. For every ultra negative comment people make on here about the board, I will always maintain that there will be one coming in the opposite direction which might explain the mysterious circumstances of his departure.
I believe we now have a more capable manager. I loved Daniel also. met him. chatted with him etc etc .....but was he capable of managing a championship side?
    Dont think so.
