Certainly nailing his colours to the mast. He's tipping Portsmouth to beat us this afternoon. Quote " it's a tough place to come and I fancy us." https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/...outh-take-parent-club-barnsley-fa-cup-1375335
To be fair, I don’t mind it. If a player came on loan to us and we played their parent club, I’d want them to support us as well.
I agree Redrum. He probably knows he's nailed on to leave at the end of the season, so he's no doubt trying to curry favour at Portsmouth in the hope they offer him something. Jackett must rate him as he's started in a couple of games since he went there and he also netted the winner against Scunthorpe in the EFL Cup.
I think L1 is his level at the moment. Given the incomings & him only having one year left, I could see him going there in the summer if he impresses. If we get something like what we paid for him, (approx £500k), wont be bad business.
Can see him playing for us again, especially if we go down which looks likely as Mowatt would probably be sold.
I agree, I think he'd do a good job for us in league 1 again but maybe he doesn't fit in with Struber's plans.
Even with a year left on his contract we should get more for him than we paid for him. During his stint with us he's got better and has a promotion on his CV. That's got to be worth more than what we paid for a lower league player coming back from a serious injury. If he gets Pompey promoted or at the least really impresses there we can hope for a bidding war.
We have Ritzmaier signed till Summer of 2022, I'd probably see him as a Mowatt replacement, if we go down & Struber stays.
I still don’t think we will go down, I see us just scraping enough points to be slightly better than 3 of the others.
I'm still hoping Styles may make the grade, should do at L1 level. I'm hoping we can stay up & hang on to the likes of Alex, Cauley, Jacob & Conor, but it remains to be seen. I'm certainly not giving up hope & the recruits give Stuber the backing he's asked for, so I'm not in the negative camp, just a realistic one, that it could go either way.
Might be hard to get shut as he signed a new deal with us in the championship so will be on a good wage. Probably only a few league one clubs who can afford him
I'm still hoping but each game that passes makes me more nervous. Plus if Charlton keep hold of Taylor they're not looking as shaky as they were.
