Arguably our best player who actually tries to get things going and least he has a pop at beating a man. Won us corners etc. Score would of been worse without him
Frustrating player is Browny. His stats show he clearly has a positive influence for us but he can also be wasteful. Then again? what player isn’t? The 2 sitters he missed were truly terrible though I must say.
They all “could” be doing so much more. He provided the most of a very limited threat prior to Woodrow’s goal. Yes the miss was poor and was made to seem much worse when they got their third straight afterwards
I understand he misses 2 sitters. Fair enough. But shouldn’t we be creating more chances? They were our only 2 apart from the goals. This wasnt a cup shock this was due to Having players who wouldn’t get in the Yeovil squad. Too many players in our squad are a different calibre and it don’t mix. If we played a full league 2 level squad together we would play better because it’s balanced. This squad ain’t
£1M to Everton. Hope we get a sell-on clause. I just want to say here that whenever we talk about hoped-for sell-on clauses we are really in cloud cuckoo land because it won't benefit the team one iota if the people who control our club are intent on trousering any income generated by the transfer policy and will replace them with players from an Austrian cuckoo clock. And I apologize for that last remark because my daughter says it is "problematic"!
Imagine if Brown was playing for a good team. Look at his stats in a team thats terrible and try and give him some credit for the work he’s doing.
The balls forward today were terrible in the final third. Brown missed a sitter. What about all the terrible passes made & the shape of the team being all over the place. Oduor has the ball on the left & Ritzmaier is nowhere near. Madness. Hope Struber is banging some heads together. That was a ******* discgrace of a performance, with a full strength team.
Brown’s finishing needs to improve, I think he’d admit that too but for someone his age with his lack of experience & that until the last 3 months he’s played more for the first team at full back or out wide than he has as a striker. After Moore was sold & wasn’t replaced we were desperately short of any kind of physical presence up front & he’s done a decent job for us. He’s created lots of chances. He’s probably been our 4th or 5th best performer behind Mowatt, Woodrow & Chaplin & on a par with Halme for me. Do people not remember the first 10 or so games when he was injured & we had no one who could win a header or hold a ball up? Woodrow & Chaplin were wanting to play off someone with both dropping deep & wide whilst Thiam & Wilks were pretty useless up top.
Not really. You pick your best team. Woodrow & Chaplin are both good players but looked ineffective as a pair. Brown with either of them up top with the other at the tip of the diamond has been more effective. If we had a better option for the team than Brown I’d say put him in but I don’t see one unless others have seen something in Patrick Schmidt that I haven’t.
Brown is a lightweight and today he was in the box trying to win headers against proper centre halves. To his credit he pulled back, was laid an equalizer on his plate and.. we know the rest.
I can't understand what some people actually watch. The amount of goals Brown has provided since Struber took over has been ridiculous. So to hammer him after a bad miss is unreal. Clowns.
I like Brown, but we are crying out for another striker! Someone with some size to win some headers and hold the ball up a bit! We just have no options on the bench to come on up front & offer something different! Brown & Chaplin look ****** at the moment!!
In the 12 games since the start of December, the two have the following... Chaplin - 8 goals, 2 assist Brown - 1 goal, 7 assists These 2 aren't the problem.
Far from it. But we still need another option up top when things aren’t going well or to help see games out!
