If they meet a 'fair price'' then it will happen. We have previous in selling to rivals - Moncur showed that. The only thing to do is laugh really.
Well selling Brown would be monumentally stupid unless we get silly money but I suppose selling to Brentford is marginally less bad than Charlton If we sell Brown in the next couple of days that means we have resigned ourselves to relegation and are cashing in - may as well sell Woodrow and Mowatt whilst we are at it
Comparing hapless and lazy Moncur to Jacob Brown? We didn't need Moncur and should have binned him off earlier. That isn't a fair example.
I'm not comparing the two player per se- Jacob is brilliant whereas Moncur is a waster. What I was trying to do, was make the point that our owners will not hesitate to sell our players if their valuation is met - whether it is to a rival or otherwise. The Wilks to Hull move backs this up.
As for Wilks If he’s not featuring for us and not in plans then he may as well go and hopefully free up space for someone that is . I presume the club will have a clause that he can’t play against us and hopefully he has a blinder for Hull against our rivals .
Im sure they are.....as will others. The question is, if theres an offer.......what do our board do about that?
I'm not sure there were any other takers for Wilkes and we'd accepted the move hadn't worked out. There's no expectation he'll return so I think we were cornered on that one if we didn't want to keep him. Hull aren't a rival either in relegation terms so maybe we were hoping he would help take points of our actual rivals .......... cough ....... Huddersfield ....... cough. Again with Moncur, we wanted him off the wage bill and he wasn't part of the first team. We don't have any evidence yet that they'd sell a top first team player to a relegation/promotion rival during the season, valuation met or not. That's not to say they wouldn't though.
Kind of agree - mainly with Wilkes. Yes we had no plans for him, but I'm pretty sure he would offer more off the bench than Schit. Strongly disagree with Moncur though. If our direct rivals for promotion viewed Moncur as someone who could make a difference to them, then we tell them to whistle. Especially for the pittance they would have paid. He scored a view goals for them also, if I remember correctly. But no, the 'valuation' was met, and we let him go straight away.
Seems a logical type of signing for Brentford, young, championship experience, proven that he can perform at this level and only going to get better. Worth far more to us than they will pay tho, but nothing would suprise me with this lot..... Their eyes will light up if an offer comes in.
