And I see bugger all happening tomorrow.... but if it does it will be players incapable of Championship play. I just hope that somehow we can get rid of these owners .... all they are doing is destroying a wonderful football club.

It really is depressing. Instead of being linked with Polish or even more Austrian players,
it's patently obvious that we need an experienced pro who has played in the Championship and
who can " direct" and mentor the younger defenders around him.

Someone who commands respect and will ensure we cover the posts at corners, can clear our lines
quickly and safely and push up to catch the opposition offside when any move breaks down.

This is no time for bringing in any defender who might need five or six games to get up to the pace
of the English Championship. If the Board don't do anything tomorrow regarding addition(s), I fear some
of our loyal supporters could well vote with their feet from August 2020.

Somebody like Kevin Long on loan for the season. He’d be just what we need.

This is not a serious post by the way but the standard response to the same stuff over and over again.

They won’t. The owners have a free hit if we get relegated, because we’ll all be hoping to romp through league one.

What happens next season will be the test for everyone.

The current ownership have continued to operate the club within its financial means, as they said they would do, but with perhaps a little more spent in outlay than the Cryne stewardship. They are businessmen and women and are not saddling the club with debt. You might not like that sound, prudent approach. You may want them to spend every penny available to the club. You might prefer a more reckless policy.

A shower of sh*t who are destroying the club isn't a statement I like or agree with.

Only in your mind, which seems prone to over-statement - to destroy the club would mean to sell all its assets, or invest huge sums of money that might saddle the club with debt it cannot repay and then we can go bust. That's destroying the club. Get a grip.

If operating within financial means is signing players with little/ no proffessional experience is how we are operating then something has gone drastically wrong.

But the evidence of their tenure is that they are football illiterates and incompetent communicators. It's fine for some but not for many.

The thing that disappoints a lot of fans, is that after years of scrimping, when they took over
Paul Conway said the Board would , without doing anything crazy fund attempts to get to the
    Premiership.

Thus far what they have done, is presided over the unravelling of the Clubs steady progress
by not investing in the players who are capable of surviving in the Championship plus they appear hell bent on
selling any that do show promise for absolute peanuts, which would appear to bring into question the legitimacy of their " supposed" collective wealth.

This is what Conway said when they took over the club. ‘Year on year improvement’.

I think you’d be hard pushed to see said improvement in the time they’ve been here.

I'm not saying there is anything going o, but you have absolutely no idea that 'bugger all is happening'.

I'd be very shocked if members of the club are not trying to get people in. Just because you don't see it, doesn't mean it's not happening

They could probably have spent less than half the money they have and given a better team on the field than they’ve delivered. They’ve spent in a massively flawed way. I don’t speak for anyone but me but it’s not the lack of spend I take exception to, but how and what they spend it on.

We have a large squad of players who are mostly well short of being good enough for this level, at least not yet in any case. We sign three players instead of one so that only one signing in three has to work out and they can make their profit.

We could spend the same money, yes still concentrate mainly on younger up and coming players who will have sell on value, but supplement with some older heads to strengthen the team and also to assist the younger ones in their development.

Our current squad could be markedly improved by getting rid of six or more and adding only two or three.

So no, I don’t want a more reckless approach. If they chose to spend more of their own money we’d no doubt get a gazillion point deduction for ffp whilst everyone else gets away with it.

Recklessness isn’t required, and there’s nothing wrong with the theory of the plan/method, but the rigidity should be relaxed or tweaked to at least allow the younger players to play in a team with half a chance of moderate success and to have an environment they’ve got a chance to learn and improve.

The owners have been pretty clear and consistent since day one that we would continue to operate within our means.

We were robbed for Pinnock. That was clear as day at the time and has been proven right since. However, who else have the owners sold for peanuts? Good money for Potts, Lindsay and Moore in my opinion.

Suppose it’s only ‘good money’. If you spend it wisely on recruiting their replacements.

Lindsay, pinnock and Moore haven’t been replaced, in Moore’s case, we haven’t even tried, at least in terms of what he offered.

Factor in the money we’ve spent on the others and their wages + the money we lose if we go down, then there will be only one outcome - we sell our best players to balance the books and start over again.

So in summary, we may not be selling for peanuts, but we’re not getting enough money to give ourselves breathing space.
