That’s all well and good mate but having our best players still isn’t enough to keep us out of the relegation places, we need reinforcements, especially in the striker position.
Lol! Ooh you are quite the drama queen aren’t you? who’s being dramatic now eh? Where have I said this exactly before you engage in yet another flounce like this one? ‘‘Tis you who needs to ‘Get a grip’ fella me thinks, consistently I’ve written factual text about this boards poor decisions regarding player sales and purchases and their inaction regarding what was promised when they took over, international investment etc, and their dealings at OGC Nice, that is all. My response that’s gotten you so hot and bothered was tongue in cheek but these owners are taking us backwards as a footballing force, there can be no doubt about that. But hey, I’m glad your happy about their tenure at our club and what they’re achieving (or not as the case may be) but I certainly am not. Are you Paul Conway per chance?
Its what you do with the money that's important, regardless of the club taking good fees for players.
We dramatically increased the revenue at Nice in the first year. With that, we complemented the squad and built a new training ground, and we improved the fan experience so more came, and the performance improved. "After our first year there, the team finished third for the first time in 43 years and reached the Champions League for the first time." This is the stuff that scares me, absolute BS. They " dramatically improved the revenue" by selling off their best players, to fund the loan they had taken out to purchase the club. They didnt build a new training ground .....that was already built, they finished it off. They were already doing well so 3rd was done on the back of the players, who were then sold.....long term plan ....huh!
Absolutely. I agree there, and I don't think we've used it wisely at all. But I wasn't replying on that subject. Was about these owners selling players for peanuts, which other than Pinnock, I don't think it's something we can accuse them of right now.
Undisclosed but reports would suggest it was £2.5m for Lindsay, £3m for Pinnock, and rising to up to £4m for Moore. Problem is not all of the above is up front and purely just a transfer fee. Meaning some fans are quoting £9.5m in transfer fees and also forgetting that Ipswich, Partick and Forest Green probably had a 10-15% share of whatever we received, so having a complete guess we probably brought in around £6m.
I sort of agree it’s not so much of the spending because they are spending on *****. Least with cryne we had a few players we have heard of before and experience. But yes no way I expect them to spend big money. Look at swfc. Took a gamble and the own man said it was. Gamble and it’s gone backfire eventually
Worry ye not Dragon they will have one put by for you all which they will reveal toneet more than likely. Gets more like Chrimbo every year this pantomime.
Spot on....and i would argue that having 30 plus players, the vast majority of which, are learning their trade at this level is reckless and of course to describe this as the best tranfer window ever....only 5 months down the line, tell us the squad is far too big and they need to offload players is incompetent. They have failed ....i was always told you have to learn to listen and listen and learn.
We also got about £1million from Villa when they went up due to clauses in Hourihane's and Bree's contracts
