So, if the board did indeed adopt the recruitment strategy across the board and sell the PR team last summer, and the reason we haven’t yet received a statement confirming the Championship quality loan signings we were all hoping for is because the apprentice is struggling to put together a statement short enough. I have a question... Are the majority of fans posting threads aimed at the board this evening genuinely convinced they’re only here to make money? Or, are you just venting because you’re annoyed and want someone to blame?
Probably just venting, if we win tomorrow all the negative Nancy’s gonna look a bit silly. We can stay up with this squad don’t care what anyone says. Need to support the team now and calm down a bit I think
I have seen absolutely nothing to suggest that their intention is anything other than to make money. If anyone can show me anything at all to support the idea that that is not their aim the. I'm all ears (or eyes)
In my view.. We have gone from the constant turnover of an entire squad every window.. To one where we all know 1 or 2 changes would be welcome. To actually more or less **** all You couldn't get so far apart if you tried. And its ****
Everyone at beginning of window was ranting about Woodrow and Mowatt going we’ve kept all our best players and got an experienced CB with one of worst budgets in championship don’t know how to please some folk lol
The big frustration for me is that I don't think it would be that difficult for us to have stayed up this season. Just a couple of experienced players to guide the younger players. A centre back who could lead and encourage. But no, we've gone headlong into signing more and more young players with three "rejects" taking earnings with no prospect of playing. It's utter madness, because we'll probably go down because we were inflexible in our approach. As for the owners/ management. Totally unimpressed. The silence has been deafening all season. It just feels like a total lack of care or respect for the people who put their money into the club. Who is in charge? I've already lost interest, although I am going to Charlton tomorrow. I doubt very much that I will renew my Season Ticket though.
Thank god we have some realistic people on this board instead of the cloud cuckoo idiots who post every time we dont do something they want to do.
Really? I’ve not read that. Why would we have sold either of them when they’ve both got plenty of time left on their contracts? We’ve got way too many players on our books, I think many of us were hoping we’d be able to move numerous fringe players on & then sign the players we need. Even with Mowatt & Woodrow playing we’ve been one of the 3 worse teams in the league so we need to improve to stay up rather than stagnate
Yes, I believe they are only here to make money from better players sales. They have form from their prior dealings at OGC Nice. The have not brought in any international investment as they alluded and the whole board and CEO structure seems less and less football oriented than ever. The only aspect of their ownership that they have succeeded in is the apparent solvency of the club as a whole although without being publicised as yet from the summer transfer debacle it is not known. All they seem to have done in over two years is probably claw back their loan to buy us and then gamble the clubs transfer kitty on, in the main, total footballing punts from across Europe with what seems little or no thought in even attempting to buy footballers capable of sustaining us in the championship. I believe they are regressing this football club on the pitch severely by their actions. I don’t believe they have any supposed footballing wealth even if they desired to personally fund investment which they said from the outset they wouldn’t anyway. They had six months to assess championship requirements when they took over at the previous relegation. If they were serious about championship sustainability this time around they would not have sold and bought in such a naive, ignorant and arrogant manner so as to put us firmly in another relegation spot. They are not interested in speculating to accumulate, just accumulating. They are wrong for football and wrong for Barnsley FC.
They are here to make money. I point their previous ownership at Nice, and the disastrous recruitment in the summer, which was clearly assembled to make money, rather than have a decent team in this division.
Nice fans told us all this when they took over. It’s just we choose not to listen until it’s all become clear.
I would go with signing a couple of players with the ability to play in the Championship. In the past we have somehow managed it. 2 years ago we signed McBurnie in January and Moore. Not to strengthen the defence is basically getting relegated without even a fight.
