One must wonder why the players that were offered on loan or whatever decided to stay with us. It must be tempting to get your weekly thousands and do sod all.

That's very worrying. Never get the best out of anyone who thinks they're being treated unfairly.

I totally agree with with you and in my opinion Pinilos for example would be our first choice left back. But managers make there decisions and they have to live and die with them.Struber didn't have the luxury of having a preseason with these players so in a short space of time he had to select who he thought was best to take us forward. It doesn't make him 100% right in the eyes of supporters we all have different ideas as fans but the man who gets hired and ultimately fired is the one we have to trust.

Is he not allowed to change his mind after the first 14 days?
I didn't realise football management decisions were like entering into a financial contract with just a 2 week cooling off period.

    Ok, let me rephrase.

He's nowhere near good enough for this league. None of our fullbacks are but the other lads are cheaper & younger.

What a coincidence that he has tweeted the day after the transfer window closed. He's a typical half hearted bang average journeyman footballer who should in reality thank his lucky stars that he plays for us because were too good for him, what did he expect , a new 3 year contract?

Are they cheaper when they are both already contracted?

Cavare was dropped from the squad and never seen again after being muscled off the ball near the touchline which led to a goal.

Which is exactly what happened to Andersen against Preston. Andersen was selected the following game to allow League 1 Portsmouth the freedom of Fratton Park and bang in four goals. His partner in crime had a nightmare and was muscled off the ball for their third. They'll both be playing today to do it all over again.

Cavare can be just as bad as those two at times. But way, way better at other times. Cavare offers good and bad. Andersen only has bad and very bad.

Someone has posted that Struber made his mind up in two weeks who will play and who won't. I find that appalling. I've been working with a team of people for three years and I'm still finding out about them.

His eye injury came about battling for us to get promoted last season. He's always been professional as far as I can see and is wasted in u23s. He's also good with the fans. Not surprised he's a bit pissed off, I'm sure we'd all be in his position.

There must be a reason why he's been dropped. You simply don't drop your best players.

Anderson is as bad of center halfs I've ever seen at oakwell and I've seen some bad ones. He should have been dropped after derby at home when he gifted them 2 goals, derby away he should have wore a derby shirt the amount of times he passed them the ball. I'd be shocked if we ever re coup the 800k or whatever we paid for him. But he will keep getting played because he is on a 4 year deal so hopefully he does come good.

It was me who posted that Jay.Like I said in his defence he only had a short time to assess the squad to see what was required moving forward. All managers say they base there squads on what they see on the training ground.I don't think he's totally shut the door on them I'm sure Thiam was on the bench the other week.In my opinion all 3 players mentioned should be in the match day squad but it's not my living or my head on the line.

I don't know the answer, but one possibility is that someone who has had a history of injuries may have an appearance clause in his contract. So it's way cheaper if he doesn't play to run down his contract than if he does.

Any of squad only has to spend 10 minutes reading most of the rubbish posted on here and I wouldn't want to give my all either, all the squad is slated on here, especially the defenders and you expect them to give their all, your more in cloud cuckoo than you come across as

I think you do need a settled side and I dont slate Struber for that. However he's got the championship experience so seems silly not to have him in the squad. Oh well it will help Disco get the results back on track no doubt.

I don't doubt you, I just think human beings require a lot longer than two weeks to be assessed and a good manager should know that.

I doubt we'll be seeing Cavare and Pinillos again as they're now listed in the under 23 squad.

A settled side is not as important as the best side though.

I'd much rather rotate between 3 good centre backs each week than play Andersen and diaby every week just because theyre friends.

If they have any sense they wont read it, or if they do have a good laugh to themselves about how little we all know.
