Takes a lot of crap on here.

He got taken off. But he is getting better by the match and will ply his trade around this level.

In years to come maybe at this moment in time I'd be playing a player who got named the best RB in league one last season

Decent league 1 player at least. Not like the rest of his line who are maybe just good enough for frickley

We don't have the luxury of giving him that time though.

I don’t mind him tbf. Like a lot of the team, he just needs game time.

Better than Cavare and less trouble in the changing room than Cavare.

He tries. He's not fast. I'm not saying he's painfully slow, but at this level you've got to be very good to play fullback if you're giving the opposition winger/forward half a yard in terms of pace. He's not good enough yet. He may get there, I don't know. Can't knock him effort though and he's been the least culpable in terms of errors from the defence in recent weeks.

He’s actually one of the few players who could be with us for many years to come as he’s not got enough potential to get a big move, isn’t so **** that we’ll bin him off & doesn’t appear to be an arsehole

Dimi - good going forward, not great at defending

JW - not great going forward, not great at defending

Anybody that thinks he’s better than Cab needs to give their head a wobble. You don’t get in L1 team of the year and then become a bad player overnight

Cavare was brilliant last season playing in a team that was all out attack and knew that the opposition were fairly weak. He overpowered his opposite men time and time again and didn’t have to worry too much about what was behind him. Even McCann made a point of saying Donny deliberately targeted the space he left behind because he didn’t want to run back.

In this division he still often gets the better of his opposites, enough to still look like a player, but he becomes a liability with his inability to defend, track back, be aware of what’s going on. It comes across as lazy, but I don’t think it is that. I was always convinced we should have moved him further up the pitch this season but alas his career with us is over.

Cavare is a liability defensively. Jordan Williams is a liability everywhere.

Although I rate Cavare more than most I didn’t think him or McGeehan deserved a spot in that team. Not sure how we got 5 players in it & Luton only got 3.

Also Reece Wabara got in it a few seasons back when he spent the first half of the season with us & was subsequently outperformed by 17 year old James Bree & then out of position Josh Scowen

He's not good enough, good back up in league 1 but we need better even in that division.

Tell you what though... I at one point yesterday I anticpated a repeat of the debacle the other week where we conceded due to our lack of pace which was exposed down the side when their forward left two of ours wallowing in his wake and had ample time to get a cross in which was met by an unmarked player who slotted home.
However, this time it was Ludewig tracking when they made a fast counter attack along side a pacey player (cant remember who) who broke on the half way line he matched him stride for stride and made a perfectly timed sliding tackle to avert the danger.

I know the other week -against PNE??- his lack of experience was cruelly exposed when he got caught out of position and wrong sided a few times but you can coach that. Pace and the ability to time a tackle you can't teach. He looks promising. Unfortunately, again, he is one for the future and we all know that is not what we need.

My point is, we really shouldn't vent our frustrations however justified by making blanket statements that some on here do like (to paraphrase) "the entire back line are sh*t" ...."never been and never will be footballers",......." only fit for Sunday league" etc

Even Mads Anderson, who often looks all-at-sea, yesterday several blocks, tackles and passes to suggest he is not a lost cause.

I am not being a happy clapper and I know the sitiuation is dire, but once again, and it has been repeated so many times on here, we should support this young inexperienced team since they (and again it is only an opinion), contrary to what one or two on here have said, DO 'give a sh*t' and put 100% effort in. I have watched Barnsley on and off since the late 60s and have lived through times where certain players made little effort and deserved all the criticism that came their way. This is not one of those times,

Unfortunately Ludewig is only on loan for this season so little chance of his staying if we get demoted. Maybe he came over here to showcase his talents in case some other club pick him up?

I had forgotten he was on loan. You are probably right and we won't keep him. He looks a bit raw but the improvement from the last game was obvious. I though he made a real difference when a came on yesterday.

We also had the luxury against weaker opponents (last season) of being able to leave Pinnock back on his own to "look after the shop"......we dont have that luxury this time as we have inept centre backs.
