Anybody ITK with what has happened to him?
Started the season at Scunny, quite a few social media threads that he had a crap attitude and wasn't liked. A much publicised bust-up with Hurst (now gone) which resulted in him being told he wouldn't play for them again. A loan to Stockport, where he played in 1-3 and 1-4 defeats and has since never even made the bench.

Does he still live local to Barnsley?
Has he retired? (I don't do Instagram where I believe he used to post)
    Is he focussed on coaching?

I thought he'd have a lot to offer the lower leagues for his last few years in the game but can't really work out where he is in his life at present.

I can't believe he's had so many clubs since leaving us. I'd have thought he'd enough in his locker to move back into central midfield and play out his days in League 1 or 2 with the one club.

Similarly Dale Jennings, still only 27. Joined Runcorn last season to kick start an attempt to get back into the leagues. Re-signed this season (pre-season) but not seen or heard of since.

That's right. He's back living on Merseyside. He signed for Stockport in January 2019 on an
18 month contract, so effectively his contract should end in June 2020. He's only played three
games so it's fair to assume his deal won't be renewed. Saw him at Cannon Hall Garden
Centre just before he joined Scunthorpe and wished him all the best for his future. A true Barnsley FC legend.

He went on loan to Stockport at one stage but then they ended his loan.

Hammill thrived on the big stage, and as that stage has become smaller and smaller, his motivation has probably gone.

I thought his best goal for us was against Millwall in the league.

He’s dealing with some personal problems. Think its related to his mental wellbeing. I'm sure every Barnsley fan wishes him well

Hope he's back to his old self soon. Sure we could help him with his coaching badges and find him a position in our club alongside many of our other former players.

He needs to come back where he’s loved and valued , there’s always a welcome for him in Tarn.

When I was talking to Adam at Cannon Hall Garden Centre, I actually called him a legend and
he thanked me. Like many fans, I was at Wembley when he unleashed his shot to score against Oxford United
in the Johnstone Paint Final. I had my report on the game published in the letters page in the
Chronicle the following Friday and predicted we could be back there in the play off final.

Couldn't believe that my prediction came true, particularly when we had been bottom of the league at one stage.
Also was gobsmacked when Adam went on a mazy run and did the exact same thing against Millwall
as he had done against Oxford. Truly memorable moments.

Incidentally, the Thyme Bistro at Cannon Hall Garden Centre seems to be a favourite of former Red Derrick Parker.
He's been spotted there a few times. Well worth a visit. Frothy Illy coffee and the best twice cooked "jockeys whips"
    I've ever tasted.

I feared as much, but edited it out before posting, as I didn't want to be the first to say so. Adam is an adrenaline junkie and has had demons to exorcise when his career has been at a low ebb before.

I don’t know the chap, but this sounds about right to me.

He’s had a big drop in the last 4 years in his career - and I can thoroughly understand anyone struggling in any career with this turn of fortune.

For me, with the right manager and team he can still do a job at L1 or L2 standard.

Hope he comes through it ok and gets back in the game at some level - on or off the pitch.

Would love him alongside Hassell. Two club legends who gave everything for the shirt.
