My point is that only winning the premiership is no big deal Winning the Premiership and a cup is the minimum Man city managed.

To be fair Helen Liverpool winning the league for the first time in 30 years is huge. Definitely a big deal to their fans

The rules state a full available strength, so it leaves it open to debate over what/who is available.

There are couple of things in this to consider
1)The Premier League and the FA are two completely seperate entities and by the FA scheduling replays it is at odds with the Premier League Winter break. The most the FA can do is fine them or ban them (cant offer points deductions etc), would Liverpool actually be bothered by either as a result?
    2) The FA set a precedent when they allowed the U23 plat against Aston Villa in the Carabo cup.

I know that. My daughter's looking forward to the celebrations! I just think if its the only thing they've done this season it puts them in the Leicester camp rather than Man city/Man utd/Arsenal etc.

Manchester United started the trend of disrespecting the FA Cup when in the 1999/2000 season
with the FA's agreement, they opted not to defend the Cup they had won the previous season in deference to competing in the World Club Championship Final in South America which they failed to win.

Such is the kudos in winning the Premiership or the European Champions League, the top clubs
who can win them, now make those competitions their top priority. During the last couple of years of my working life I had the pleasure of working with two lads who are both diehard Liverpool fans. They idolise Klopp and are desperate for him to bring the Premiership title to Anfield for the first time. They look to have an unassailable lead and I for one hope they can do it.

I can imagine she is! But I see Liverpool as a club that have under achieved domestically for 30 years, as well as winning two champions league in that time. Leicester on the other hand were the quintessential underdogs, nobody saw it coming. I hope Liverpool win it this year, been a long time coming for them. I'm just glad the Utd era is well and truly finished

Don't really think it is in any doubt Donny. They only need about 6 more wins and it's done and dusted, and that's assuming City and Leicester dont drop any more points. They will be parading the trophy Easter weekend.

See they've won 1-0 tonight against Shrewsbury. West Brom in the next round now. They will
have to put out a stronger eleven against them if they want to advance any further in the
competition. I've been watching the Oxford v Newcastle tie. Fantastic comeback by Oxford after
being two down. Extra time now being played. Oxford fans singing " Premier League you're having
    a laugh."

Just said on TV Liverpool now play Chelsea away and in paper it says West Brom.
Just checked it is Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Premiership is everything to Liverpool - just to stop people saying they've never won it. Even though they have won the league 18 times it's still a massive weight that needs to be lifted from their shoulders.

City need to win Champion's league - that's their goal - not sure if they're good enough this season to do it - to be honest can see Liverpool winning that again.

Personally I’d like to see Liverpool try & win a treble but if they win back to back champions leagues & set a record points tally (maybe even going unbeaten) in the league they go down as the greatest English team in my lifetime & probably in history.

I’ve got no issue with his first team not been there, they don’t have as big of a first team squad as City, Chelsea & United & a lot of the back up players have been crocked so they’ve not been able to rotate but I do think a few of the lads coming back from injury who’ve not played much - Lovren, Matip, Fabinho & Keita along with the new Japanese signing who’s name I can’t remember should’ve been involved & also Lallana & Shaqiri if fit but this is a much broader issue than just the FA Cup, it’s more down to Klopp’s ongoing issue with the FA over the League Cup / World Club Cup clash

The rules also say that premier league clubs shut down for 2 weeks, thus you could argue they are fielding the strongest available team.

No, they played the strongest available team(in their opinion).
They problem with the ruling is there is no clarification and is too vague to what is the strongest available team.
The EFL for example and the Premier League are very clear about it, but the FA not so.

I would imagine not many(but could be wrong).
Liverpool did the same against Everton and people seemed ok with it. This time seems to have touched a nerve with some which can only be because either it’s ‘little old Shrewsbury’ and/or he was honest and upfront about his intentions.
Someone could argue by announcing it in advance people are less likely to feel ‘conned’ if they buy a ticket.

Liverpool should be totally ashamed of themselves.
