Why would it cause unrest? Personally I would have kept all 3 around the squad in fact I would have played them all at certain times particually Pinilos. I don't know what goes off behind the scenes but Pinilos has not played since Nottingham Forest away.He played one full game, a 45 minutes, a 20 minutes minutes and a 1 minute cameo under Stendel while claiming to be fit.Murrey didn't play him at all neither as Struber.Cavere's not been involved sine Boro' away and Thiam's not been included for a while but as featured at the odd occasion for all 3 coaches. Lots of coaches say the way players perform on the training pitch can influence whether a players picked or not maybe these 3 haven't shown enough fight or desire. The fact that all 3 have barely played this season shouldn't cause any unrest it's been no surprise.
Cutting your nose off to spite your face springs to mind. Only needs a couple of full backs suspended and maybe one injured and we'd be glad that we had Pinnolos or Cavare as replacements. Were not exactly blessed with strikers either.
I wouldn't want Dimi anywhere near the squad. Put in no effort whatsoever when he's been given the chance this year, and he's had plenty. A lot of the early goals in the season came from his poor defending. Feel for Pinillos though, I don't think he's been given a fair shake this season, although we don't know what's gone off behind the scenes he might be awful in training.
Cavare and Thiam have had chances over the course of the season. Pinillos on the other hand hasn’t, and I’d argue he’s better than Ben Williams, who was first choice at the beginning of the season. Total guesswork, but they’re out of contract, so I’d imagine the club tried to shift them out and recoup at least something, or get their wages off the books. The players probably struggled to get offers on similar wages, and/or are happy to see out their contract and probably get a better signing on fee somewhere else in the summer.
What a strange statement to make. What if half our squad gets flu or something and we have literally no other players?
Pinillos went public on Twitter about being relegated to the U23 squad and finding out via the official website. Today's response from Struber appears to be a reaction to that, presumably answering a question regarding the situation. Easily avoidable, if handled differently, even if the outcome in terms of 1st team selection was going to be unchanged.
I wonder if it's contractual or bonus related. Play another game and you are contracted for another 12 months or something along those lines
Folk on here usually call for the club to 'let them rot in the U23s' and now the club are actually doing it, you all slag them off. I think the club are ******* stupid for doing this, but half of you lot ask them to do this on the regular.
I think Struber is more wily than people are giving him credit. He said the squad was too big and it needed trimming. He's done that with a sledgehammer. Soulbanger, Beethoven and Ritzcracker don't look that good on first viewing. However, it's only been three league matches since they were brought in. The Charlton result was a body blow. People who attended said that there was a transformation in the second half. There is a player factor that will kick in too. It happened under Morais. The players will eventually put aside any possible reservations about the coach to try and obtain the best results if they're good enough or have any personal pride. Which I think they do. Whether they're good enough is another matter. Judging by the performance second half Saturday I'd say they're still playing for Struber. I'm happy now window has shut to just wait and see what last 16 games brings and see where they are in summer. I certainly won't cry about three players who haven't been involved getting the pedlar. I'm not happy as a few others aren't about the dealings etc but is matters not. I'm typically fickle in these situations. I vent my anger after a defeat post some stuff to get it off my chest and become more grounded until the next defeat. I don't go round looking for things to be annoyed about. I'm sure Thiam, Pinillos and Cavare will all get over it.
That is a common theme when players are out. I wouldn't have any of them in the first team presently. But ruling them out completely does seem a bit odd.
Not when the first team is already paper thin and lacking quality. To just disregard players that could potentially help us win points and survive is absolute madness and just shows the sorry state of the club. Cavare- better than jordan williams, better than ben williams at left back. 2 problem positions all season. Should be in the squad. Pinillos- better than ben williams, should be back up to oduor. Thiam- no place in the starting 11, definitely a player still worth bringing off the bench. Him or schmidt id probably choose thiam. No faith in the management or the board.
To think people were debating before Derby County game which point we'd leave the relegation zone. I make Charlton away Struber's first truely shocking result but i'll give him benefit of doubt because it was away from home.
