Maybe I'm just a bit paranoid, but I'm getting a bit of a Uriah Heep feeling about Herr Struber knowing how fans feel about our owners and all that.
I suppose it's all relative in that regard. A player from the national league would seem like a world beater in a Sunday league game. Put them in the championship and they could well look lost. As we have seen players can make the step up. Often though it's a slow process and a steap learning curve. So you are right it's wrong to just throw around terms like useless. Some of these players could prove in the future to be good enough for this level. As ever the issues at Oakwell are our wider model and trying to have a entrie squad learn on the job. All that said I will stick my neck out and say Thiam is not good enough.
Yes, once. My mate who made two substitute appearances for Mansfield. Looked like Maradona in school training. Two substitute appearances for Mansfield. Frightening to think how good any of our first teamers must be on the grand scale of things. Even the ones who get regularly slated are so much better at football than 99.9% of the population it's unimaginable.
This is a very strange statement indeed. Do we believe that our squad is so good that we can just freeze these players out.
Ritzcracker! I’ll never call him Ritzmaier again. My take on all of this ... there’s no doubt that all three banished players have got the talent to play at Championship level. Pinillos is well liked by Forest fans for his contribution at Championship level. Cavare was in the League One team of the year and, on his day, is a beast of an attacking full back. Thiam can be a powerful force too. However, have we seen consistency from any of them at the levels described above? I’d argue not. Of course, every player in the team is inconsistent at the moment, which makes you feel like they deserve a chance as much as anyone else in the squad. But they’re not getting it. And that makes me think that their attitude and / or performance in training must be poor. We need to win games and fast. The manager is not going to cut his nose off by not selecting the best options from the limited options that he has. These three clearly are not his best options.
Shut out for what? Bad performance? But have done more good than bad last season. When his golden boys are consistently Pish. F. Off
Eh? Struber saying it in an interview is as close to an official statement as you can get. What more do you want?!?
Yup, easy to forget how long Thiam has been at the club without really nailing down a place. I think he’s on his 4th manager, and hasn’t convinced any of them, although he has had his moments. Sadly, I think our recruitment with continue to unearth turnips at the same rate if it’s not altered in some way.
It's a **** show from top to bottom and sadly unlikely to change with the current owners and CEO in place. I'm amazed some fans are still backing the owners they've done absolutely nothing of note for the club, the team that was promoted was largely brought in by the previous owner and the current lot cashed in on it at the first opportunity. The fan zone is a product of the supporters trust. They promised much but have delivered nothing.
What we didn’t need at this moment in time was another comedy act going on behind the scenes. We need the players to united if we have a chance of getting out this mess we’re in. These comments and actions won’t help in the slightest.
So they're still training with the first team but won't be used? For me that doesn't sound great, if attitude is really that poor at training ( speculation I know) then don't let it taint the rest of the team. If it's for other reasons ( punishment for not taking loan deals) don't publicly announce you won't play them! It's not rocket science!
God help them if they'd ever signed Tom Pope* - spends half his life in twittersphere. * too old, I know.
I think a mr hiristov wins that award, I think we paid 300k for thiam originally and the rest was add ons that could take it near the million mark if it ever got to the near million mark it's poor value for money even if he did score some important goals last season.
