What's On Against Birmingham City Club News There's plenty for all to enjoy ahead of Tuesday evening’s Sky Bet Championship fixture with Birmingham City. Continue reading on the official site...
Would Mr Bot please tell me if there's ever been anything to enjoy.... as in, ENJOY, at Oakwell, matchday experience-wise. All I ever see is the grey, grey concourse under the East Stand. Maybe I'm not being open minded enough about it.
Ey, don't jest. Don't know if I've ever related this but anyway.... years ago I was told that something similar happened at Hillsborough. Due to too many first teamers being injured or whatever the pitch was deliberately "watered" in icy weather in certain parts of the pitch to make it unplayable and the game was called off. This was told to me by the father of one of the Weds players. Don't know why he told me but we worked together in Donny so there'd be no need for him to invent it, especially as his lad was involved. Believe it or not .....
If you added a question mark after the "What's on against Birmingham City" then it sums up the current plight of the powers that be down there. What's on against Birmingham City? I haven't a clue and do we care !
If it does snow, as we know only too well from some games in the past, there's a good chance that the game could well be postponed. The powers that be take public safety very seriously and even though large parts of Oakwell are under cover, they won't want to take any risks caused by slippery roads, footpaths and any areas leading to the ground. Hopefully, if the game is under threat, an early afternoon inspection is vital to prevent our fans and any from Brum making any plans to travel. Had to laugh at my wife earlier. She was talking to one of our son sons tonight. He's taking our grandson to Craven Cottage on Saturday. She cited Coronavirus, terrorist action, snow, and Underground closures as reasons for not making the trip. Needless to say, he took her comments on board and told her they were still intending to go. Mums eh.!!!???
