I think we had worse in the early 70's but maybe they are before your time struggling to argue with you if you didn't see any games before Iley took over
Certainly the worst at this level. Hard to judge 4th Division against these, but at least the likes of Alistair Millar and Kenny Brown could pass to a team-mate.
We've some way to go to be worse than John McSeveney's Barnsley team that went down from Division 3 in 1972. The problem for me is the disconnect between the Club and the Town. Foreign owners, foreign manager and not one Barnsley born player in the team.
It’s pretty dire I must admit. Tactically all over the shop with players playing in totally the wrong positions. Off the field we’ve players been told they are surplus to requirements who are better than who replaced them and a defence that would struggle to keep a clean sheet against Athersley Rec under 15s.
Thiam would get slaughtered if he'd performed like some of these have tonight. Utterly ridiculous management.
Agreed I’ve seen the club relegated to league one twice so not as old as some but the team that got relegated under Parkin had Bruce dyer, Darren barnard, Dean Gorre in it. Wilson’s relegation team was poor but still had great pro’s Steele, ramage, sir Bobby. Paddy McCourt in there, Chris o’grady was ok, plus a soft spot for Danny of course. this team I have no connection with, no confidence in the coaching staff, no trust in the board.
Worst team I've seen in Championship at least. Even from the days of having Vito Mannone in nets. I'd be giving Walton number 1 shirt next season in league 1, at least the kid can perform better than these loonies we've got as goalkeepers.
Worst at this level so poor its embarrassing anderson and William's wouldnt get in any other side in this league
Cant see any difference between him and morais. At least morais played players in their correct positions. I just cannot see how long he can just keep playing the same system and getting the same results.
I honestly wonder how many league one sides they’d get in. Jordan Williams has shown very occasional moments of competence. Nothing more - if anybody thinks he’s a better bet in the league below than Cavare you want your bumps feeling. Cavare might not always want to defend but at least he can do it.
Agreed, but i also dont think many others would be regular championship players either. Theres only woodrow that is good enough.
Mine too started early 80’s. it’s all wrong, everything.......wrong players, playing in wrong positions in a wrong system for the players we have.
Sad thing is were playing William's in the hope he comes good and we make a profit. He was good v Wednesday but he isnt a championship player a million miles off and anderson is so out of his depth its scary
This is certainly the worst relegation, the worst two transfer windows on memory Some serious problems. Makes me sad to say it, but I've never felt so like giving up my support for the club than i do now, with owners that clearly do not give a flying **** about the fortunes of the team.
That's the trouble with all this. Everyone concentrates on either the result or who was directly responsible for the goal. Or both. Williams wasn't the worst player for us today at all. Andersen wasn't bad apart from the goal. The defence wasn't that bad at all. Just not good enough. We were lacking everywhere in terms of looking like we could defend a whole game. Or when we tried to build up to scoring. We lacked quality wherever you chose to try and find it. Which is why we are where we are in the league. It is nowhere near the worst team I've ever seen. But it's bad enough to be lower Div 1. Which is where we were not long ago.
It's by a long chalk the worst fist we've made of the 2nd tier during my lifetime and I go back to 1966. Whoever's responsible for that recruitment shouldn't work in football again.
