Anderson wasnt bad apart frommthe mistake for the goal and the few odd passes that went astray, he has made costly mistakes all season I could go through the games but I cant be arsed right now. You didnt mind slagging thomas off in another post but get defensive when people pick up on another mistake from our defenders. I do agree with you we were **** all over the pitch we could have still been playing till easter and wouldnt have scored but easy to see why we have the worst defence in the league
Thomas is OK when he's running but has no through ball imagination whatsoever. That's not a slagging so much as the truth. Our defenders are their own worst enemy - most of the opposition goals come from mistakes committed well outside our penalty box. Which is a bit weird.
They're making far too many scatter gun signings and hoping something pays off!!! We are now lumbered with a lot of these players on long contracts.
People used to comment on diaby ball chasing but watch anderson he ball chases and gets dragged out of position regular so when he makes his mistakes it costs us more often than not. We paid 800k for him we will never make a profit on that in a million years.
I hate the diamond! No width, no space, just short passes that get picked up by the opposition. Oh and while I’m on the subject no strikers. Add to that a centre back who gives away a goal a game and relegation is nailed on. This coach has not impressed me and is out of his depth in this division.
Mmm well I don't see us getting split open by through balls so much. Nor do I see us being duped in the box other than by set pieces. But we aren't good enough I agree. The coach has Halme as an option but doesn't choose him in place of Mads.
Cheap players and cheap manager and even if we kept this “team” together, I could see them dropping straight through to Division 4. Need to get shut of the manager and his god awful tactics and get shut of the Austria B team. Went tonight and it was absolutely dreadful. Both teams were terrible.
For the division we're in it's the worst I've seen and I've been watching a long time. Down to the board.
To be fair to Collins at least it was his back post he got beat by tonight and not his near post again like at the weekend.
Devoide of skill brains and any ideas play football With this defence we would unless the attack could outscore the opposition enough times
Not sure its the worst team ever but we are very poor. Brum tonight never got out of 3rd gear and looked uninterested but it looked like we were inccapable of scoring and the same against wednesday (but for a gift). I do feel sorry for the players because they are just so out of our depth at this level.
Not for me. I'm now 32 years into supporting the Club. During that time I have witnessed a limited number of high points re- 1996/97 Promotion to the Premier League, 1997/98 Premier League, 1999/2000 Play off final against Ipswich at Wembley, 2007/2008 FA Cup Semi Final against Cardiff at Wembley, 2015/2016 Johnstone Paint Cup winners against Oxford, Play off final winners against Millwall both at Wembley and finally, promotion from League One in second place during season 2018/2019. That's a total of seven seasons where I have seen us enjoy a modicum of success. The other twenty five seasons have brought mixed emotion, good fortune and disappointment in equal measure. The worst football I have seen us play was under the custodianship of Nigel Spackman in 2001. We got shot of him and in 2002, handed the reins to Steve Parkin who recruited players he had managed at clubs in a lower division and it showed. We were awful and we deserved to be relegated at the end of his one and only season. The current squad is simply not good enough to compete effectively in the Championship. Whether they would be good enough in League One is a contentious point. What we probably need, is a "clear out" of players and head coach. We need players who have previous experience in the EFL, not those who have plied their trade in the lower echelons of the Austrian/ German leagues and a coach capable of bringing them together to fight for every ball, every game. Individuals who readily spring to mind, are Gareth Ainsworth, Karl Robinson who would cost us money or we could look at someone like a Paul Ince or Ian Dowie who have not managed for some time, but would do a good job in moulding and motivating a young squad, all hopefully hungry to make their way in the game.
Former players with experience and know the type of football required to make a fist of it in the English Leagues would be a far better prospect than keep bringing foreign coaches in who need time to get up to speed with the game in England. There surely must be such candidates out there who could do a job for us.?
Not disagreeing with you but it's the knock-on effect that worries me. We came up from League 1 absolutely bouncing, we had the momentum to really push on (if sufficient investment in the quality of the team had been made) - a winning mentality is infectious for the team and fans (sorry, customers), as we saw last season. Instead we sold Pinnock (and Davies, Lindsey, Moore etc), the spine defensively ripped out, and replaced with mediocrity. We were fighting a losing battle from day one (well day 2, after the honeymoon period Fulham at home) when we should have been all guns blazing with Stendel at the helm, investment in the squad (a few necessary additions) and retaining the quality needed. I fear where momentum will take us going the other way with the same owners and the same approach, and the losing mentality we have now inherited. You're right, we wouldn't go down to league 2 with these players, but take Woodrow, Mowatt, Brown, Chaplin out, replace with.. (insert unknown here) or Adeboyejo (nothing against the lad but 2 goals in 30 for Bristol Rovers), Schmidt, Jordan Green, Ritzmaier, Williams (squared) and that lad who went on loan to Scunny, plus Mads at the back.. my god. Look where Bradford are, it's not outside the realms of possibility. We have some potential gems, who could really shine in league one (Styles, Simoes, Oduor) but defensively we are shot and the team is only as good as the sum of its parts.
