Birmingham seemed to do similar to Wendys- let us have the Ball in our own half knowing we haven’t got the quality to break down 2 banks of 4, and wait for us to give the ball away, and then wait for the inevitable defensive **** up- simple really. As terribly negative brum were it still looked like kids against men, it doesn’t help that we are tiny, I feel sorry for Brown being the target man because he’s the only player capable of winning a header. Seemed to me that their was a distinct lack of belief in the tactics ( whatever they were), and also some lack of effort tbh- when we had our all too brief purple patch, Mowatt, Chaplin and Brown gave it all and drove us forward, I didn’t see that today- especially from Mowatt. Seems like they’ve given up tbh, so it might be me done now, if they cbh, why should I?
Just wait for Andersen to **** up and take the spoils. Wednesday would have done the same if they didn`t gift us a goal back.
Our out ball has been the keeper or centre backs playing it high to the right for Jacob Brown to win the header against the normally smaller left back. Unfortunately tonight Birmingham had a Marc Roberts clone at left back which cut that out & left us short of ideas.
Thought Brown won quite a few of those headers second haif but nowt much came from them, only that our defenders weren`t trying to pass out from the back, so worthwhile in the end.
Brum sat deep and waited for the inevitable mistake. They seemed lethargic in large part but thankfully for them had a couple of players who could stop anything we had. They were tall enough to stop the long balls from the back. They had a good left back (pederson), the young 16 year old and a very good center back called mark roberts! I keep trying to work out what is a better system for these players but i guess they just dont have the quality at this level. The blues were poor last night as were wednesday but we like conceding and now not being able to score (unless we are gifted one ourselves) is an another issue. This system does not suit the players thats for sure.
