Probably not. I meant to say Managers with the experience of playing and managing in the English leagues like Ince and Dowie. With our current board, I doubt it will happen though. The early momentum we seemed to have when Struber first came in looks to have gone and from what's in the Yorkshire Post, it seems that Struber himself is beginning to despair with the repeated mistakes and the giving away of goals that the opposition don't have to work very hard for. Agree with others who feel he probably won't be here next season.
I'm 43 years in. And that was the worst. Good for you if, in the recesses of your mind, you can pull up a worse performance so you let this lot off. I think you're missing the point though.
The biggest issue for memes we knew The full back positions were a key area needing fixing in August. The centre half pairing showed itself to be poor and gets worse as the season goes on yet no major fixes in Jan. when people say let’s give it our best shot, give it a go then I personally don’t see that we have given ourselves any chance to stay up
The really scary thing is he keeps playing, what does that say about how bad the people behind him are?
Your post has validity to it, but the problem is finding one who would come and work for us. Even if we ripped up the recruitment policy and gave back control to the club, there are few about and I am struggling to think of one who would work with our budget and is good enough to achieve what we want. In an ideal world I could see Colin coming in next season for one last hurrah, to save his hometown club and cement his legacy with another promotion. Won’t happen though.
Pay peanuts get monkeys and that includes the manager. Fooking disgraceful way to run our club by our cretinous owners imho.
Nonsense! Unless you mean as a collective tactical unit. We have had far worse squads when it comes to individual skills and abilities. At least many of this squad will improve given experience unlike one or two teams I have witneseed over the years made up of average journeymen who had already peaked
Certainly the worst in this division in my time (since 1988/89) but the hodges season/squad may pip this one for absolute gashness. If i'd been told at the end of last season we'd be paying a midfield 4 in the championship including Simoes and Styles and all four were out of position i'd have said you were bonkers and yet here we are. There also seems to be an assumption amongst a lot of people on this board that because the players are young they will improve with experience - there is no guarantee of this, infact i don't see much hope for many of them.
the man must be an idiot, one minute he tells us cavare, pinnilos and thiam have no part to play in the team but yet he picks anderson game after game. who is worse than all 3 of them
this is the point for me, I agree with The OP in that it’s the worst Barnsley TEAM I have seen, it’s also got some of the worst players in it, but not all. The team the season we had that avoided relegation under Flicker had some of the worst players in it I’ve seen too, but the difference was, he played them in a unit that got the best out of what he had, and we had a couple of lads in there prepared to run through brick walls and psyche everyone else up (Harewood/O’Brien). We don’t have that now, we are trying to play, no impose, a system on players that don’t fit it, and what’s worse we are having to play half decent players out of position to do it. It is all adding up to an almighty mess, that is resulting in the worst barnsley team in terms of performances I have seen.
