According to reports, the scoreline actually flatters Fulham! This result doesn't alter my opinion of the board, nor their actions (and sometimes lack of actions!). One swallow doesn't make a Summer, as the old saying goes. However, EVERY Barnsley fan will be delighted at today's score, irrespective of their personal views of the 'suits'. Jacob Brown's finish was particularly impressive, I'm so pleased for the young lad. Today's victory doesn't mean we'll avoid relegation any more than Tuesday's defeat guaranteed it. Tonight is a night to simply enjoy everything about a season's best result against such a good team that few predicted and is as good as we've had at this level for quite some considerable time.
Pressure was off though. I'm enjoying the result and I'm sure we'll have a few more like this one. Get within a couple of points and bottle it again. We've done it before.
Results like today's have been a rare event this season, so I'm going to enjoy it for as long as I can.
Great result. I feel we are probably still too far adrift and it's the hope that gets you. But considering how bad we have been, how hopeless today looked, it's a massive well done to those lads for pulling out a win.
I was confident we would lose today. So pleased to be completely wrong. Even able to actually enjoy the last 10 minutes once Woodrow put us 3 up. Well deserved win and no more than we deserved. Surprised at how poor we made Fulham look Can we play them every week?
The effort of the team today was off the scale, tremendous, as was the support. 1000+ fans made a 400 mile round trip to support a club at the bottom of the table. Says a lot about their allegiance to our club. Special mention to Jacob Brown, for a well-taken goal but also for his work and link-up play. And he wins so many headers, which go unnoticed, flick-ons, when Collins aims for him down that right hand side. Today we could quite easily have scored five, Fulham were so open on the break Now need to beat Boro AND Reading to give us a glimmer of hope.
Today we took advantage of Fulham mistakes and didn’t make any bad errors ourselves and in between played some great counter attacking football which probably should have led to even more goals.
Must also mention Brad Collins. He had little to do first half, but late-on when Fulham were attempting a come-back, he made a couple of crucial stops, from close range, and was noticeably commanding his area, coming out with force to collect the ball. A brave performance especially late in the second half. Deserves to keep his place.
Had some ***** days recent but performance and atmosphere at ground today superb make you understand why put myself through it just for days like today
Very true Andy, that support was tremendous today; it surprised me how constant it was. It must have been a support to the players. I couldn't hear any Fulham support at all from where I was, it was drowned out by the volume of Tykes chanting.
