So to replace Chien. A man who says he doesn't put money in we need to find someone willing to pump large amounts in? Explain the logic please
Eh? A lot of clubs have... stoke for example, how well they are doing... Luton? Well that’s working... There are many clubs running at a massive loss. The chairman putting in large sums to help them float, and yes keep their players. From the start they said they wouldn’t do this... you seem to think that if you sell a player all that money is available to the owner. No overheads at all? Look at the cost of an academy.. look at the cost of the facilities, look at the cost of wages. You’ll find there’ll not be much change from the Brad Pitt’s money! I’m not saying that their business has been the best, but I’m saying without this kind of owner we wouldn’t have a club.. they weren’t exactly queuing up for us!
Why are you so protective of these owners is what I’d like to know? They’ve brought nothing but poor footballing dealings to the table since purchase and that is crystal clear.
It’s called business.... eventually we may need it.... then what would your man do? A wise man once said, “buying a football club will make a very rich man rich.” I tell you what, put me a list of suitable candidates to take the role.
He doesn't pay any bills. They don't put a penny of their own money in to the club which is why it doesn't really matter if they own us or someone else. They also aren't billionaires that's a myth that's been proven with links.
As you seem unable to accept that Chien isn't putting money in (and are effectively calling him a liar) then it's pointless debating this with you as you and I have two very different ideas of what our owners do! You think they are benefactors who find the club, I think we are self sufficient through player sales. As these two are such polar opposites then we will never agree on the kind of person who could take over that role.
Bloody hell, it’s called an opinion... I’m not protective of them. I am of my club though, and I don’t see the streets of Barnsley awash with multi millionaires chucking their money away on a whim... maybe you know something I don’t. They aren’t the best directors, they haven’t done the best deals, but we have a club and it’s afloat.
It’s quite clear you haven’t read anything I’ve put. You also seem unable to comprehend that neither you or I know who or if at all anybody has put anything into the club. You are speculating as much as I am. However I didn’t call anyone a liar. Do you think we’re self sufficient this year? Next year? You clearly have no back up to your pitchforks at dawn attitude. So you’re right, it’s pointless debating this with you.
Neither are they, not a penny of their own cash, as they alluded to on purchase. It could be joe bloggs the businessman in charge under this model tbh.
You really think so? What happens next year though when we don’t find a Woodrow? There may need to be an investment, what’s Mr bloggs going to do then?
But we DO know that! Chien Lee and his colleagues told us themselves that they haven't and won't put any funds into the club. The club has to be self-financing. That's all fact, not an opinion.
You dont need to be a billionaire, millionaire or anything else to run the club, the way they are running it. THEY DO NOT put their own money in, they generate money from mainly player sales (as per the plan, which was already implemented long before they arrived), now anyone of us could do that, now what through their international business links have they brought to the club to take us forward in 2 plus years?? mmmmmmm.
Any of us could do it?!? Do you not remember administration? Ok so let’s say anyone could do what they are doing... please tell me who we could get in who’d do it differently. Pump in their own millions to shoot for the moon... I guess I’ll just wait.
What millions are they pumping in ? Yes figuratively speaking anyone can not put money into a club and follow a plan. They would neef some business acumen.
Oops yea the other point is theres no need to do things differently, just amend the plan slightly. I don't demonize our owners, they are in charge of OUR club, yet for business people, who came with great sound bites on how they were going to take us forward, using their international links, i see no clear advantages. I also look at the previous with Nice and that scares me!
Please read what I put... according to him, he wanted the owners out, so the new ones could follow the same spreadsheet. In which case why bother... but if he knows some people who would pour in the imagined cash like Stoke, Wednesday and the other clubs have to gain a magnificent advantage ... then please enlighten us.
BINGO. It took 4 pages, but we finally got to mentioning Bury. Looks like that's the only option lads. Either we're happy with no investment from these Cowboys, or we go bust. There's clearly no middle ground.
I would hazard a guess you will struggle to find one owner in the top two leagues sole goal is points and points alone. The difference however is other owners are willing to put money in to try to ‘buy points’. But all of these owners will be doing it to improve the cash coming in and value of the club in the long term.
