    Who wants the owners out?
And why do you keep going on about new owners who would put money in?
These owners have publicly stated they will NOT put money into the club. So eveytime a fan pays at the turnstile they are effectively contributing more than they money wise.
The Becket's to quote just one family of business people have put infanitly more into this club than they do and ever will.

I have nothing agaonst a self sustaining model but we need someone to run the club with a bit more football nous, who can get and keep good players/ managers and not sell them all together. The PR also needs to improve big time. Not an impossible task I don't think.

Well for starters, instead of signing 14 players this summer of questionable ability, sign half that but of an increase in quality. Our squad is completely bloated and we have so many 'professionals' on our books that it could and should have been easily streamlined.

Don't sell our top scorer at the back end of a transfer window and not replace him.

Don't spend wasted money on a goalkeeper who's greatest asset is his fit wife. Collins is fine, Walton as back up.

All of that shows that the owners have spent 'some' money - but that whoever is signing these players wants their bumps feeling.

And to be fair, anyone who says 'go on then tell us what to do' is missing the point entirely. It's not the posters on a message board who should be making the decisions. It's those in charge.

But we have every right to criticise them, when it's been as bad as this clearly has.

The argument of But Bury is very poor.

I don't think 3 goalies is too much for the championship and Radlinger was on a 1 year deal. Personally I think that was OK.

There is and should be a middle ground absolutely and we do not have to think of ourselves as a potential Bury.
All of this talk about money out in etc promoted me to look at the League table and the relegated sides apart the highest team I can find that tries to operate in a reasonably self sustainable way is Millwall in 10th place.
This really does for me highlights the issue facing BFC.
As fans we should ask ourselves what do we want from our owners?
Ones that are willing to invest reasonable sums into a team to try ‘buy points’ and maybe have a tilt at some glory.
    Or
A club that is financially sound but in reality is unlikely to be successful at this level.

Personally, I would rather the former but can respect others wanting the latter.

the club bets sponsorship money, tv money, football league money...the club have been on record as saying the board will not spend their own money, we are self sustaining. They have not spent a penny of their own money other than initial purchasing costs. Exactly what they did at Nice

What’s Chien and Conway going to do more like? They have said they won’t spunk any of their own money so this argument is irrelevant isn’t it.

Spot on....allegedly they took out a loan to purchase nice, then repaid it ...allegedly using player sales. Nothing outrages about that just not very explecit.

Every small team is a potential Bury if they try to “buy points”. To disregard what happened to them as, would never happen to a big club like Barnsley is unfortunately naive. I’m sorry if you find that such a stretch, but we have been in difficulties before and we’re luckily bailed out. Otherwise other clubs may have been worried about doing a Barnsley...

You talk about this middle ground, but why aren’t these amazing investors making themselves known? Millwall have an operating cost of about £24 million... we’ll have to sell a couple of Woodrows to keep that kind of finance up. But I’m sure those middle ground investors of which you speak will pop up with their massive free flowing wallets to make sure we get 10th in league.

They could build debt... which Mr Bloggs who runs the chippy down the road couldn’t. They could then hopefully ride it out... or even, invest! They are generally better placed.

I absolutely agree, but I’m pretty sure those decisions aren’t being made and shouldn’t be by the owners.

There's a £6 million prize money hole in what you're saying. That's what SuperTyke is pointing out.

But they’ve alluded they won’t build debt, their personal wealth is also questionable to say the least. A few million in loans to take over our club probably secured against their investment doesn’t really make them rockerfella either.

I’m yet to be impressed by these owners sorry.

So are you saying that the income is the same in the Championship and League One?

I didn’t ask you to be, I just despair that people on here are just shouting Chien out, without actually thinking through the implications of what that actually means.... on their simplistic view, we got £6million for promotion so should have a £6 million pound striker.

I’m trying to say that; so far, no one has been able to say who or what would step in, in the event of the owners jumping ship. Maybe we’d get lucky in the 11th hour like last time.. or maybe not. But currently I have concerns about the football decisions that have been made, but feel relatively secure in the clubs financial situation.
