Amazon owner Jeff Bezos has pledged $10 billion (£7.7 billion ) to help in the fight against Climate change. Jeff Bezos: World's richest man pledges $10bn to fight climate change https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-51539321
He recently bought the most expensive house in LA so I reckon he could afford to buy our club. Anyone got his number
Meanwhile his company Amazon creates as much pollution as a country such as Portugal . These billionaires really are away with the fairies at times .
Agree JD. I was reading something the other day, where a top accountant was saying that the UK tax system had so many loopholes and anomalies, that any good " money engineer" worth their salt , could easily pick their way through it and legitimately suggest ways to evade payment. Unfortunately, I was never able to take advantage and like millions of others , have always had to pay "top whack."
Just for comparison. He's worth £124bn, so that's the equivalent of someone worth $25k a year donating $1.5k. Funny thing money when you have so much of it, it becomes increasingly difficult to get rid of it. Bill Gates has been giving away hundreds of millions for years, yet he's still making more money than he's giving away.
It's more the equivalent of someone earning 25k a year refusing to pay taxes and then giving some of this tax money to one charity instead and expecting people to love them whilst doctors and nurses lose their jobs.
