Our owners were in touch with Struber whilst Stendel was our manager

You're presuming that 'keeping in touch' with Struber was just to make sure he was well within his calorie deficit.

    Ok.....

Think it's time for me to logoff tonight. More spin from the people in charge being lapped up by the psychophants on here. Have a good evening everyone.

Only if you are reaching the conclusion that they were in touch to keep him warm for the job and that is just assumption and conjecture. Like I say staying in touch with people in this way is not out of the ordinary.

You're calling me a psychophant? I'm just saying do we have to drill the club with everything that is said and find things that are very likely not there, all things considered. Why not start a thread about his comments on the use of the diamond, or how he's said it was the energy not necessarily style that saw an upturn in results those first few games?

Is it common for Chinese and American owners of English companies to head hunt an Austrian, get turned down because the time isn't right, keep in touch (presumably talking about random things not related to the job) despite the language barriers and thousands of miles and then fire the current employee and hire the Austrian they've been in touch with throughout?

Staying in touch is not the same as actively approaching him.
That statement also doesn’t say he was offered the job whilst Stendel was employed either.

waiting for the post that condemns the owners for having two eyes

Possibly because since they came here the owners have acted atrociously to the wider fan base (save a select few), have made numerous comments and statement that at best were accidentally untrue and at worst deliberate lies.

Their actions and their words as owners are why I and many others do not trust them one iota and in turn that is why I scrutinise what they say because they have led me and others to mistrust them and think the worst. If they don't want that to be the case then I ask why havent they made a single attempt to change the supporters perception of them? Our mistrust is all on them I'm afraid.

All I am saying is that you don't know the nature of the communications while they stayed in touch. You're jumping to conclusions and getting irritable about something when there are no facts.

I'm in the same camp as you with regards to these owners, my posting history backs this up but I honestly think you're making a mountain out of a molehill over this.

I'm not sure that as a Barnsley fan I view the prospect of our current manager testing the water about leaving the club in the same light as our owners testing the water about establishing a potential replacement for said manager.

I would want the owners to back the manager they have in place.

If I was appointed manager as an employers second choice and I discovered they were still in regular contact with their first choice I would feel extremely insecure about my job. In fact I may just start looking for an alternative especially if I was told that I could not hire the employees I wanted to.

Why should they if the manager was exploring the idea of leaving?

Luckily for you then you must have always been first choice. Because I can almost guarantee if you weren't first choice, your employers will have stayed in touch with their first choice. Not to offer him your job, but just to monitor his career and be aware of what's going on out there int he wider world.

If they were in constant contact during Daniel's time maybe that's why he was exploring other options. Who knows?
