ITV have announced that they will not be broadcasting the X Factor this year due to plummeting viewing figures. They have also announced that they have also scrapped the show compared by Paddy McGuiness " Take me Out" and despite proving to be popular as far as viewing figures were concerned, there won't be a return for " The Masked Singer" in the autumn. Bosses are expected to fill the gaps with a number of new game shows including Gary Linekers " Sitting on a Fortune" and a spin-off of " The Chase" called " Beat the Chasers."
Recently announced Through The Keyhole won't be back even though the remake got good ratings for six series. Got shut of the remake of Surprise Surprise after a few series. Don't see Vernon Kay on TV much since they got rid of his Family Fortunes. ITV love axing a show. I enjoyed Masked Singer which was so **** it was good, but one series per year is enough so it isn't overkill.
I wouldn't watch sh*te like X factor or Take Me Out if the alternative was watching paint dry. So although them being cancelled won't impact on my viewing I hope they replace them with something better but I won't hold my breath.
