That Schmidt touched the ball today?

    Like I said it's only a rumour

    Yes.

He kicked it 0.8mph to the keeper in the 90th minute when clean through.

I mean, to be totally fair to him, we spent nearly the entirety of the second half camped in our own half so a striker coming on for the last 10 minutes isn’t exactly going to be inundated with service.

I definitely saw him touch the ball during the warm up if that counts.

Tbf there were plenty out there who were $hite for 90 minutes. Not sure why he would get special mention

He even got his shorts dirty when eased off the ball in the 91st minute and fell over hopeing for a foul. And yes he did get clean through headed the ball on well then passed it back to their keeper

Yeah he also controlled the ball once too. I think the only control of a ball by any Barnsley player in the entire 45 mins if the second half.

To be totally totally fair to him he did manage a shot on target (or passback if you prefer) which no bugger else did.

It was on his weaker foot. He should have hit it with his other weaker foot.

Hide & seek champion. He comes on every game but no one knows what foot he is or what his attributes are because he never touches the ball

Did no worse than the other front 3. In fact he got a shot on target at the end (weak shot).

The lad has quality and can finish - but he’s more of a fox-in-the-box type player than someone who makes his own chances. The problem is we don’t create anything from crosses or set pieces, so he’s got no chance.

The cool finish v Stoke and the header v Millwall shows he can finish. If he stays for L1, he’ll do well.

He’s not great but Chaplin and Brown have been towing for a few weeks. I’d rest them and give Schmidt a couple of starts, if only to get him ready for League 1.

He’s the type of striker that needs to feed off a big lad up top, someone like Kieffer Moore. Playing under Struber, even in L1, with the diamond I can’t see that happening.

To be honest I have no idea what type of striker he is because he offers nothing. Does nothing and may as well not be on the pitch. What makes you think he's that type?

Just my instinct really. Two good finishes for the goals he’s scored but like you say he’s been largely anonymous this season.

He touched it twice actually, once to mis control it and second to pass back to their keeper!

Not bad for the invisible man!
