For those that think COVID-19 is ‘just the flu’

I indicated that maybe we should be. I did not intend that as run around the streets screaming freaked out. I intended it to mean that it is scary enough to change habits and make people think about their own personal risks. Thus taking sensible precautions. Although the risk is slim, the risk is real. Economies like China and Italy wouldn’t take such a hit unless they thought the situation was very grave.

Many people here seem to think it will only kill old people with asthma... we need to get through to them that the subsequent pneumonia that COVID19 creates is not as safe as they think.

Freak out, probably not the right words, but concern and focus is needed.

 

Two weeks is longer than the incubation period, so by that point you have it ‘contained’, all that needs to follow is voluntary isolation of everyone entering the country.

China are about to announce that containment has finally beaten it there.

The alternative is ‘do nothing’ which doesn’t appear to be working well

I just want to clarify that I DO NOT want people to panic.

By ‘freaked out’ I meant that I want people to be spooked about it. To be concerned and aware what this can do. Not to go and rob your closest Tesco for toilet paper.

 

If we are relying on warm weather, we really are ******.

 

I saw a conspiracy theory the other day saying that it wasn't a coincidence that all the countries with serious problems were around 40North... where it is currently winter. Warmer weather can limit the virus survival time outside a host body, but it wouldn't stop it coming back next winter.

 

One upside of it, it appears it’s helped little Rishi to locate the magic money tree....

 

They might have to cancel Christmas.

See if you can find the study done by Mark Humphries et al for Newfoundland University, he breaks the Kansas theory pretty well and pins it to China with some great evidence. It's a fairly new study. I'll grab the link for you if I can find it.

 

The last Cruise I was on I had a pop at someone who walked out of the sh1tter without washing their hands, I may as well have been talking to the turd the scruffy fcker had just dropped. You are correct in what you say.

 

I've just done a bit of reading that suggests that theory is not proven...having said that neither are any of the others....the China question...as to low death rates being that the Chinese had an earlier mild outbreak that may have given them immunity.

 

The CCP are now looking to pin the virus outbreak on the US.

They are under a lot of pressure , their PR in the last 18 months has been shocking and they need to reclaim some trust again from the population there who already have a lot of doubts.
