Obviously top 4/5 prem, automatic promotion placed clubs will vote to do it as placings stand now. Those in the relegation zones will vote for the season to be null and void. What about the middle clubs?
They will vote according to which of the teams who need their support offer the fullest brown envelope.
It was in 1919 . If it was up to the "powers" they would rearrange the leagues like the WSL did when they relegated Donny Belles before their season started . Based on money .
I feel like UEFA will take the decision out of their hands. If there is a blanket Spring/Summer postponement of football, then whatever happens in Italy, Spain, Germany, etc. in terms of this season's current positions will surely have to be replicated everywhere within UEFA. The only thing I can think of that might be palatable, is that you cancel this season but next season each team starts on a score vs. the 'par score' for the division. In the Championship that is 48 points, so Leeds would start with +23 and we would start with -14.
I feel like it might be one of the only ways to avoid legal action. I don't think the laws/rules allow anyone to relegate us with nine games to play so if the season isn't concluded we're definitely not going down.
I was thinking along similar lines but just by merging the 2 seasons by carrying the points totals forward. It would also need the games added to next season that were already postponed / rearranged date games to even up the number of games played. Doesn't affect the championship as we have all played 37. But in the PL for example, 4 teams have played 1 game less than the others - Ie. 2 missing games - they would need carrying over to next years schedule. Still not a perfect solution though as teams could argue that they had a easy run in compared to others, meaning they had already had to play their harder games and the others around them therefore have an advantage. But there is no perfect solution.
I think if teams were short on games vs. other teams you would just add on their average points score from the season to date. I don't think anyone can argue about an easy run it. Pointing at the form table vs. the league table proves nothing is guaranteed.
No doubt the pools panel will come into force..... To decide the out come of games.... That's us up the creek then... Don't think we've ever seen 3pts of them... Lol
Still would feel like we'd done something wrong to be on minus points! Having said that if the season is declared null and void would Bolton avoid the 12 points deduction?
Hate that idea, personally I'd rather take relegation and regroup, would feel like wading through treacle with a points deduction and prolongs our agony by a whole season!
Agree. Fact is Stendel n' Winkler were shoe horning Potts in at right wing, they loved his effort and didn't want him to leave but were fitting him in. Bradshaw was home sick and wanted to go back home to London? Brown was brought in and we were promoted. The club have suffered the shortfall in revenue through relegation in 2014 and 2018 and survived. Why should this season be any different? Likewise they've had two promotions. I don't think the problems are financial. I think they are learning too slowly from mistakes. I'm as annoyed as anybody but I don't think we have the anti-Christ in charge and the club will kick-on.
Well that response has properly shocked me! We’d be starting the season seven points away from safety with 46 games to play .........
Maybe you're right but I'd still feel we were in this season. The whole thing about a new season is its a new season, all the hopes are there and it's a level playing field. 7 points behind and we lose Cauley and possibly another out of Brown, Mowatt and Chaplin. Would still feel like an uphill task.
