Doesn't bother me - I'm not a pub or club goer. How many of those who are will take any notice?

Half the population will carry on going until they're forcibly closed

In the next few days, elderly and people with existing conditions will be asked to isolate for 12 weeks.

He's also asked that everybody works from home, where possible. I hope it's not too little too late.

I wish they’d close special schools at least. Ours shares facilities with around 2500 other people :(

Strange that the pub clubs ect aren't just ordered to closed rather than just advised to avoid.

Many of them now wishing they were being forced to close, because otherwise they can't claim on their insurance and just have to take the hit

No its not - it pushes all onto them rather than Govt which will have to figure out how to deal with insurance and staff payments if it orders them to close remember when Boris said Fxck Business. Im even wishing we still had Teresa May and Jeremy Hunt in charge

This could end up with the Tories ousting him and his Commie guru.

In my final year at work , I occasionally spent one day working from home.
I was provided with a mobile and a laptop which was connected to the mainframe at my place of employment.

With the availability of FaceTime and Conference call facilities, it was easy to keep in touch with
customers and suppliers and they were totally unaware that I wasn't in the office.

If it's keeping folks safe, it makes eminent sense for employers to sanction its use and I can only
see it gaining even more support if it cuts down the risk of cross infection.

It could but it will be too late. If ever we needed a proper decisive government with a real plan now is the time and I dont have the feeling we have one

This isnt a party issue either I cant think of a PM of either party in my memory going back 50 years I wouldnt rather have in charge than what we have now- at a time like this even Maggie wouldnt be the worst option

They hid him during the Brexit campaign so he only came out to make statements rather than scrutiny and it worked so they did same during GE and the media abetted his avoidance of scrutiny .
He won’t get away with it this time when the death rate mounts up and we lose our loved ones as blustering won’t cut it .
He hasn’t got a clue and he’s axed any real advisors in Cummins coup for power .
He’s nowhere to go and we need leadership.

Pubs will close. Breweries will close. Companies that service pubs with beer from breweries will make redundancies. All because the PM refuses to make closures an official government instruction.

Theatres will close. Those of you with tickets won't be entitled to a refund as the theatre can't officially cancel events without taking the hit. Production companies will cancel shows and the theatres won't be insured. Performers won't get paid. All because the PM refuses to make closures an official government instruction.

Clubs/Gig Venues will close. As above.

Those pubs and venues that remain open, because they have to just to give themselves a chance of survival, will come under scrutiny from people isolating and following today's advice. The public will be divided more than ever. It's already happening in the US where threats are being made to those still going to restaurants, bars or brewery taprooms.

It is not the job of business owners to be responsible for the health and future of the British public. But these jokers in charge just put it all on them.

The key word is avoid, so why are some newsreaders stating they have been closed? Some BBC chappie said it and now Harry Gration.

    Typical Tory lovely people trick.

They'll have no custom, but won't be able to claim. He's just dodged any liability by only 'advising'

    Tory *******.

Insurance companies won’t get him in Elected next time .
In fact this could hurt so many people that even the Mail and ITV can’t redeem him .
I have a feeling the Tory machine will get shut of him anyway once he’s taken the brunt of criticism .
There’s rumblings of Cummins dodgy deals and axing and poilitics has a knack of making popular people unpopular in days .
