New National Anthem

    I know it’s been done before and it might seem trivial to be bringing up at this tragic time ,but.
    Just been watching a news report from Italy and every morning at eleven they play the national anthem .
    Whilst it’s playing people appear en mass on their balconies a beat out a hearty rendition .
    It really brought a lump to my throat that even in adversity and isolation people still find a way to come together .
    Now we have God save the Queen which is divisive and not abundantly popular as a lot of people are either Republican or Athiest or both
    It’s time we had an English National Anthem that brings ALL the country together as I Italy and elsewhere .

    Not really because that alienates those that are monarchists , I know your post is tongue in cheek but we need to include and not divide .

    It might not be quite what you're after, but it's an upbeat little number. I'm struggling to see the England team singing it before kick-off, but it could work.

    Get Dearne FM to play Fanfare proceeded by Timerider at 11:00 Am every morning whilst in lock down and everybody come to front door or open a window and clap along .
