Queen Newcastle City Hall 1979 , massive let down Freddie Mercury out of tune all night
Oasis at Etihad Stadium ( I think it was still the Commonwealth Games Stadium then ) 2005 , soulless going through the motions
Toya Wilcox Huddersfield Poly 1978 lasted into her 3 rd song before abandoning the stage due to a riot

At Newcastle, one fan stuck his head in one of the speakers on the stage and stayed there for the whole gig, he's probably stone deaf now. We sat on the back row and like yourself only suffered for a week or two.

I'm a big fan too, which made the disastrous concert even more galling. Glad to hear they were otherwise great live, though.

My favourite band. I've been one of those chin-stroking wonkers on a few occasions, notably in Bourges Cathedral in April 2014. That was some venue.

Wow, that's incredible. Yeah I really like Tindersticks, that's why I was there. Was just really annoyed by the crowd and experience of the concert.

We have a very similar taste in music !

This is beautiful for the quieter stuff although doesn't capture the raw emotional power of their harder stuff:

Alice Cooper about a dozen years ago at Sheffield Arena. Talk about past your sell by date. Twisted Sister weren't much better.

I'd forgotten about Primal Scream. Apart from going to see the wrong New Order (see previous), I saw Primal Scream for £2 in a pokey room in Attercliffe and the sound and performance was appalling. I only went because my mates were going. One of those bands that I've personally never rated although others do.

Son of a bitch at Barnsley Civic Hall, can't remember the date, where Bill (Byford?) decided that picking his nose and flicking the bogies on the front row of the crowd would endear him forever. Screeching singing, every instrument played out of tune-really really crap
They progressed into Saxon and became quite famous in the USA

A couple of my mates went to see them back in 85/86. I was supposed to go with them but for a reason I can't remember I didn't end up going. They were furious after the gig, they said they were so bad there was almost civil unrest.

No but I did go to see Wet Wet Wet back when they first released Popped in Souled Out and to give them credit they were quite good.

U2 at the Etihad 'Stadium' in Manc. Not sure of the year.

Paid a fortune, crap seats and appalling acoustics. Spent an eternity watching Bono go through the motions like a pensioner with a guitar. Awful singing and dancing just like my dad did when he electrocuted himself.

Was a fan up to that point, not anymore.

No Hawkwind were not garbage and had I known the songs or even a few of them I would probably have enjoyed it they were in tune and had a decent stage set - no idea what the support were called but they were not good at all- wrong sort of music for a lot of the crowd (personally I dont mind Heavy Metal but not sure that applies to most Hawkwind fans) and not very good at playing it. Had they been supporting Motorhead they might not have gone down quite so badly
