TFL have cocked this up. By running fewer services, commuters are having to pack themselves into whatever train arrives first.

Not clear whether they’re all key workers on a reduced tube service, or people flaunting the rules. Need police restricting entry unless they have some form of ID.

Don't get me wrong the reduced services aren't helping but you're not telling me they are all key workers. I've seen pictures of construction workers in high visibility jackets getting on the tube.

The government will have no choice but to close all non-essential business that can't work from home. Nobody wants that.

I've agreed with the majority of measures thus far, designed to stop people gathering, but closing all business is going to be a right mess. The arseholes need to think about someone other than themselves for once.

How many of those on that tube are NHS workers, so we think? People that have to go to work to save lives, who are exposed to this virus on a daily basis.

Thanks to the british public, I can see us being the worst country affected before long, in terms of both deaths and long term effects.

Whilst quieter than normal, the main roads around Sheffield are still a lot busier than I expected. You can't tell me all these people are key workers.

Manufacturing has been designated a key industry.
That could obviously encompass a very broad spectrum of enterprises.

The problem is its too simplistic to think the only people still working are NHS workers. There are care home workers There are food suppliers, manufacturers and staff, drivers, logistics, shop staff etc. There are public transport and some maintenance workers. The government want manufacturers to make ventilation equipment. They won't be manufactured from home. There are workers on critical infrastructure such as utilities etc still needed to work. The police and staff are still working. Some teachers are still working etc. The media are still working. Unless absolutely everyone is told to stay home which is virtually impossible then there will still be people out and about in our towns and cities.

My point was more that many of those on the tube will be NHS workers that are exposed to the virus, and thus have more chance of passing it on to others on the tube, not that they should be the only ones allowed to use the tube

Thats fine I was just adding to the debate where the media seem to be saying everyone out and about is blatently disobeying the order to stay at home.

I'd rather cut off my John Thomas with a rusty breadknife than commute within London at the best of times. Imagine doing it in the middle of all this. Feel desperately sorry for the poor fkers still being required to commute through this nightmare.
