Tottenham become second Premier League club to place non-playing staff on furlough as chairman Daniel Levy, who earns £3m-a-year, says 550 employees will lose 20 per cent of their pay amid coronavirus crisis.

Not put the players on it though according to that article?

If that’s correct it’s beyond words.

What a joke. A billion pound stadium, players on a fortune and they cut the money of the low paid non playing staff. If the players took a 10% pay cut it would pay the non playing staff in full for six months. Ashton and Levy are both joke chairmen.

Some players in Germany have taken voluntary pay cuts. Wonder if any of our lot have done the same.

I also read today on the BBC website that if the Premier League is cancelled then the clubs have to pay back a combined total of £750 million to broadcasters. The teams will be panicking at that figure. Just shows you exactly what is wrong with the game

I think only Leeds have offered to take pay cuts, other clubs have asked their players but many are refusing.

I saw yesterday that the manager of Atletico Madrid was taking a cut on his £3.3m a month salary.

Would take nigh on 164 yrs for a Spaniard on average wages (£1,680 pm) to reach that amount. It is so obscene I think even Jimmy Hill would be turning in his grave. ( For the young uns an instigator in the removal of the maximum wage) The prime minister of Spain gets about £6,000 pm

Collymore sums it up with this tweet:

Imagine how morally corrupt a sport can visibly and proudly be when a cheque for £600k will go to a playing staff member this month but a £600 non playing staff member cheque is stopped because it's "desperately needed" to protect club finances. Just let that sink in.

This just highlights further everything that is wrong with the modern game but I guarantee fans will still go back and throw money to the club's, when will the masses realise the club's AND PLAYERS don't care one bit about them only the money

Plus, the players that are taking cuts are ONLY DEFERRING their wages not cutting them. Completely rotton to the core
