Just back and walked on ponty road past dearne valley car park, it's full people turning up in cars , I asked a bloke if he was immune from advice of not driving fir non essential trips just looked at me gone out , maybe am being the daft **** walking
Been wondering myself how many fking muppets will be out breaking the rules! You see all these poor NHS workers putting their lives on the line and by tonight you can bet the news will be full of selfish tossers who ....well the mind boggles
Elderly(ish) parents of the woman across the road went to visit her for an hour last night. She got out of her car with a coop bag with bread and one other thing in (that got me twitching straight away as the coop is a couple of minutes walk away, not worthy of taking the car but she may have been somewhere else too). A few seconds later, her parents arrived in another car (as she was just opening her front door) and went in her house with her. As she’d just been at the coop literally a minute before, she could be carrying it and she definitely didn’t wash her hands before giving them a hug. They didn’t look to be bringing her anything (which even if they were, they should leave it outside) and she can clearly leave the house to get her own things anyway.
I fear there will be a mad stampede throughout the country today, especially as the day warms up. Thousands are dying... Aye, but sun's out!
Speaking from my poorly bed I am not the least bit surprised. When we came back from Mexico my in-laws (both in their 80’s) could not or would not grasp the social distancing stance. It has taken me getting symptoms for it to finally sink in. Asda supermarket - classic example. Arrows placed on the floor for people to follow up and down the aisles yet people still going the opposite way. We also have a generation of people brought up without much in the way of rules and the chav generation. Add that to warm weather and the perfect storm is created. The guidelines have been put in place for a reason and need to be adhered to. I would have no problem with curfews / instructions being enforced if it will keep the number of deaths down. This virus has shown it can take fit, healthy people as well as one’s with underlying conditions. This is Russian roulette as to how and when someone will get it. To all keep safe, stay in, save lives. The NHS, police, fire service, ambulance service, armed forces, and shop staff are all the heroes in this. The least someone can do is try and chuffing help by staying at home!!
Well I am not surprised at his reaction. The authorities did say its ok to drive a short distance to you place of your walk.
There's a reason why China despite being the epicenter only had around 3300 deaths where as other countries like Italy,. France, Spain and the UK are seeing far greater numbers of deaths it's because the Chinese followed the rules where as others haven't / aren't doing, (yes I'm fully aware of the cultural differences in these countries)
If I was in the council i would be going down there and lock the gates even if there are cars in there
But the police posting that will make people think, there’s nobody there so I’ll head off down to the beach. Don’t think it’s the wisest post.
I thought that. Especially putting the unnecessary ‘lovely morning’ caption on. May as well have put ‘Look what you’re missing’ along with that middle finger emoji thing.
If you're taking a dog for a walk in Dearne Valley are you likely to contact more people if you drive there in a car on your own, or walk there on the pavement passing other people?
Some numpties will look at that and think, if they can go down and take pictures then so can I. Like you said, it also looks like a giant middle finger to everyone because they can’t enjoy the ‘lovely morning’.
