Delay tactics to stop refunds all at once. Folk can't get holiday insurance at present so to promote ferrying people into parts of the world where they'd be at risk is beyond reckless. I'm sure foreign health care departments have welcomed this announcement. We're only booked to go to Robin Hood's Bay in July and can see that being cancelled.
My email said cancelled until the 17th - didn't say anything about starting again - only not flying until then. Same meat different gravy maybe - but I still wouldn't expect flights on the 17th yet.
i'm booked or was on 14th june, could still go on 18th but only willing to re-book if they can guarantee a full cash refund on a new booking if that gets cancelled too, live chat approx 4hrs wait and can't log in either i really fear for the airlines/tour operators, even ryanair
Email we got said commencing on 17th, I saw it as just a delaying tactic to stop people trying to take too much money out at once for cancellations. Would expect this to be pushed out nearer date.
dangling a carrot in case they do resume, i could book exactly the same holiday albeit leaving 4 days later for £200 less as now, and that's not including the extra £100 off jet2 offering , but can't find info on new booking cancellation policy, cash or voucher refunds? live chat waiting gone up 25mins in last 15
Foreign office advice is not to leave the country. Not sure when that will change. Although at the moment, a few countries look like safer bets than the UK if you can get into them (and aren't infected yourself).
I’d guess they will let you swap dates then(for same money), would be interesting if a later refund would be based on original price or the £200 less one.
who knows what it'll be like in 4 weeks, it was only 4 weeks since i was returning from lanzarote and jeez how it's changed since then
if the £100 discount available then around £300 difference double edged sword as airlines held most punters at ransom for years with over inflated school term prices and now they will want our support a bit like football & work
We have one booked for May with them. Not even going to attempt to call them at the moment. We want the refund so I guess we will have to speak to them at some point I doubt they will give a refund automatically.
I should be going by coach to Spain 3rd of June. If its cancelled i will be offered a voucher lasting to end of next year. When I said we may not be comfortable travelling all that way by coach next year and didn't want the voucher they said a cash refund would be available but not til next year
they're prioritising customers on travel dates, which is fair enough, but i'd take a punt on re-booking if the guarantee a cash refund, still can't get through waiting on live chat since 12:24 and still 69mins off if i don't get through today, it'll be next week before i can try again, by then i'll have said **** it, gimme my cash back
Maybe I'm overly risk averse, but why would anyone in their right mind want to leave the country this side of Christmas?
We will just take the money back and possibly book again next year if things are more normal. I don't want to be tied into a book with any airlines at the moment as I fancy a few of them will cease to exist soon.
Iceland, Japan, Taiwan and a few others are significantly safer than the UK at the moment. Although they probably wouldn't let you in... Oh, you mean you want to come back?
