I thought we knew this was happening. They're the British people who have been stuck abroad that the government have been doing deals with other governments and airline companies to return home. I don't know what they're doing with regard to testing, advice or quarantine, but I don't imagine the person who Tweeted this does either. (Not having a go mate, btw)
In a country that is already ravaged with the virus, I'm not sure that quarantine, that we don't have the resources to deal with considering the vast numbers we're talking about being repatriated, is the right move. Maybe for people showing symptoms but to do it for everyone it's logistically impossible. Quarantine was an option a couple of months ago, but when the virus is so prevalent on our shores I'm not sure what would be achieved by doing it now.
This is proof positive that yet again the great british public is standing for the egg under the cap. This set of shysters we call a government is playing us like a fiddle. Advice against this and that, be up in arms when some people don’t follow advice, secretly clap their hands when people go to work against their ‘advice’ because this keeps the economy going, and come out laughing when we’re all blaming not them, but one another, and cheering because the main perpetrator (who despises the working class almost as much as his hero, Winston Churchill) comes out of an ICU he probably didn’t need in the first place. Bitter? Me??? You Fukin bet!!!
There are loads of irresponsible people around who are not taking the restrictions seriously and it's their actions that unfortunately will probably contribute to any lockdown period being prolonged. Last night I couldn't get to sleep when I first turned in, so I watched a documentary on Bill Shankly on my iPad and then the interview that LK did with Brian Howard. I eventually felt drowsy enough to sleep and settled down for the night. Some time later I woke up, because I heard someone outdoors shouting " get down on the floor now". I went to the window and could see a Police car with a spotlight shining on what appeared to be a group of young people. Not long after, a Police van turned up, the young people were put in the back and were driven away. My son told me this evening, that the incident involved some teenagers who had carrier bags full of booze and before the Police intercepted them, were planning to pitch some tents and sleep out overnight in the Park behind the houses on Towngate in Ossett. I would be interested to know, that given the current restrictions most of us are having to abide by at this time, what the Police had to say to their parents when they were eventually contacted to pick them up to return to their homes.?
