They aren't in trouble. Its ********.

If they WERE in trouble they wouldn't be politely asking their rich footballers if they'd mind awfully taking a wage cut, they'd be furloughing them to save the business

Not sure the FA would allow it. Aren’t clubs in breech if they fail to settle all ‘football debts’, I.e. wages and transfer fees. They are less concerned if it’s just off field staff, or suppliers getting shafted.

If they put the players on furlough it wouldn't be a debt.

    Re Sunderland
£2,500 per month. Maximum if not working. So does that mean players will give up training during furlough. ? Have Sunderland agreed to pay the difference. Employees can object .

I'm really happy that I'm paying Will Grigg's salary, like.

Ironic thing is you wouldn't believe how desperate they were to sign him, then he turns up and doesn't give a fk about them.

Comedy gold that series. Apparently Grigg had an affair when living there so his mind was on other things!

If that report is true then playing behind closed doors isn't an option as the clubs need the gate revenue.
Best option before any restart would be every club has to provide a business plan and provide proof of income. Any club not adhering to it would be relegated .
Trouble is the ELF wouldn't have the balls to implement it:mad:

Course they are, some of them are permanently walking a financial tightrope .
God knows what Gordon Taylor does with the PFA to earn his million quid a year!

And yet instead of furloughing their players who quite literally cannot work they are carrying on.

If they are as in trouble as they make out then they are negligent to be continuing to pay obscene wages

People keep talking about finishing this season. Which is absolutely bizarre. Most football clubs are going to fold. I don't understand why people aren't getting this. And football is the entertainment industry. A frivolity, that doesn't really matter. What matters is the food industry. There soon won't be any food. You all want to stop at home, and call people out who are going to work. You soon won't be able to buy food. Why can't you understand this?
